In this large assembly room, meetings are convened to deal with the affairs of the world. There is ample room for benches, long tables and other furnishings befitting special occasions.

Talairi suddenly fades into sight beside you.
Brauden squeaks oddly.
Talairi smiles.
Talairi says, "Welcome"
You see Brauden Finawynn the terribly mischievous Sylvankind Ranger.
He appears to be rather young, nimble and lithe.
His long golden hair is pulled back, revealing his slightly pointed ears.
He is wearing a custom-fitted elven leather bowman's harness stitched with fine silvery-gold veniom threads, an antique silver armband, a braided silver and ora brooch, some leaf-thin eahnor bracers engraved with the royal crest of Ta'Ardenai, a starched yellow silk shirt with tiny vine-shaped ties, a butterfly charm, a delicately braided vaalorn bracelet bearing a small veniom emblem with the sigil of the Order of the Not-Quite-Learned GameMasters, a vaalorn thigh quiver embossed with a crown of silver-tipped thorns, a mysterious bag of tricks, some supple leather bowman's pants, a howling mentor doll, a lustrous silver-wrought quill, a pear-shaped blue diamond ring, a linen pouch and a large sack.
Brauden grins.
Talairi says, "We will be waiting another 5 minutes"
You see GameMaster Talairi Faravar, obviously an elf of great age.
Her silver hair hangs in long braids over her shoulders and her strange gold eyes appear almost too large for her thin face.
She is wearing a soft leather cloak the color of antique ivory, and a chamois satchel clasped with a carved, mistwood crescent moon. She leans upon a gnarled staff with fanciful forest images carved in a spiral, from the top of the staff to its vaalin-capped foot.
Talairi leans on Brauden.
Talairi says, "This is the Sylan Town Meeting by the way"
Talairi says, "Sylvan even"
You say in Sylvankind, "Of course."
You ask in Sylvankind, "We be speakin sylvan I hope?"
Brauden says, "Going to be in giantman."
Brauden nods.
Talairi says, "We will be speaking Common.. in case some Sylvans have friends with them that are interested"
Talairi smiles.
Straffe asks, "whats the meeting about tonight?"
Talairi says, "I can understand Sylvan however.."
Talairi says, "Please everyone sit down"
Talairi sits down.
Brauden sneaks off.
Talairi says, "I would prefer to keep this very informal, without turning on the forum mechanics.."
Talairi asks, "So let's all try to be quiet.. and raise hands to speak?"
Talairi smiles.
Talairi says, "Now then.. I don't have a big long prepared speech to make. I prefer to have this first meeting be a symposium of what you all are thinking."
Reubin fidgets.
Reubin raises his hand.

Talairi says, "What you wish to see.. in the short term.. as well as the long term."
Talairi says, "Very well.. let's begin with Reubin.."
Moondia raises her hand.
Talairi asks, "Do you have a question?"
Talairi smiles at Reubin.
Reubin says, "your staff has a foot on it"
Reubin giggles.
Iscikella raises her hand.
Reubin says, "not really...not much wrong with sylvans. we're groovy 'nuff"
Reubin giggles.
Talairi smiles.
Talairi asks, "Very well.. Iscikella?"
Iscikella says, "Well, I want to delve a bit into the cultural issues."
Talairi nods.
Moondia says, "I really love the dwarf verbs... if we could have some fun special actions... I would love that..."
Iscikella says, "Documentation, as it now stands, only covers that fact that sylvans live in the woods in communities."
Talairi says, "Yes Iscikella"
Talairi says, "Please folks.."
Talairi says, "If I have not recognised you.. please be quiet and listen"
Iscikella says, "And that they are basically ruled over by Heirophants, which are elders with a specific purpose."
Talairi says, "Iscikella.. I have been thinking alot about that issue."
Talairi says, "You folks have posted a great deal of very well-thought-out ideas."
Iscikella nods to Talairi.
Talairi says, "I want to encourage you to do so..."
Talairi says, "As far as official documentation.."
Talairi says, "I should probably stop here and explain a bit about where things stand as far as development"
Iscikella says, "Please, if ye would."
Iscikella nods to Talairi.
Talairi says, "You all know that I have, for years, wanted to build Yuriqen"
Talairi says, "A full service town, however, takes many more workers than one old owl"
Talairi says, "In other words.."
Talairi says, "I can't do it alone"
Driikn says, "you have us"
Talairi says, "Now then.. it is not written in stone.. however at this point, we really don't need any more towns"
Talairi says, "I think you all will agree with me on that point"
Talairi says, "By that I mean regular towns as we have know them"
Talairi says, "known them"
Talairi says, "The ones we have don't have very big populations"
Talairi says, "So.."
You raise your hand.
Talairi says, "what we are thinking at this point, is to come up with something.. hybrid"
Iscikella cocks her head at Talairi.
Iscikella says, "Let the lady speak."
Talairi says, "That's about all I can tell you about Yuriqen. Other than the fact that I still want to build it, and Llearyn is interesting in seeing it built."
Talairi says, "interested even"
You raise your hand.
Belthasas raises his hand.
Talairi says, "Now then, in saying all that, I will also say it won't happen in the next 6 months."
Yenfi raises his hand.

Talairi asks, "Okay... Driikn?"
Driikn asks, "by Hybrid, are you saying maybe making an existin town into something like Yuriquen but not actually Yuriquen?"
Talairi says, "No.. I'm saying we want to come up with something new.."
Driikn nods to Talairi.
Talairi asks, "Kahlthnor? Sorry.. I missed you.. go ahead?"
Lionsbeard raises his hand.
Ranpalandil raises his hand.
You say, "Nae worries. Was wondering what towns ye were talkin about that nae hand a big population."
Jardac raises his hand.
Talairi says, "Well, Solhaven is small, as are the EN towns. Teras is small now too"
You say, "I know the nations nae have many people, but the human empire here is quite crowded."
Talairi asks, "And now we are back to Iscikella.. ?"
Talairi asks, "Shall I continue on your previous question?"
Whistfylle says, "If you need someone to track hands, I can."
Iscikella nods to Talairi.
Talairi says, "Okay..."
Talairi says, "Until Yuriqen opens.. I doubt there will be official Yuriqen docs.. since it is supposed to have been closed up for hundreds of years."
Iscikella asks, "But when there are, will they address some of the culture issues?"
Iscikella cocks her head at Talairi.
Eloral raises his hand.
Talairi says, "However.. as long as you represent your docs as pertaining to off-shoot colonies of Sylvans, I have no problems with them"
Driikn raises his hand.
Talairi says, "Once I get the go-ahead to push forward with Y... at that time I will review what documentation you all have posted as I am putting together the Yuriqen docs."
Talairi says, "Excuse me for speaking OOC"
Iscikella nods to Talairi.
You chuckle.
You say, "The forum here is OOC."
Talairi says, "I don't want to have my hands tied in terms of needing to adhere to what concept we come up with for the town"
Talairi says, "In the meantime.."
Taniah raises her hand.
Belthasas asks, "may I.. say something?"
Talairi says, "I know you folks want a place to call home"
Iscikella scratches her head.
Yenfi says, "our home is the forest"
Atania says, "Or a culture instead. Don't need a home to be sylph. Would be nice to know what 'being sylph' is supposed to be."
Talairi says, "I will be building at least one neighborhood"
Iscikella nods to Atania.
Iscikella says, "I wasn't talking about a place really. But guess can't be answered is the answer for now."
Talairi says, "It will have a ground area.. for those who enjoy being close to the special sylvan forest setting"
Yenfi says, "maybe a tree carved on it important sylvan virtues or something"
Driikn raises his hand.
Talairi says, "And it will also have an area up in the trees.. available to only sylvans"
Talairi says, "Other races will be able to visit it.. but will not be able to buy homes there"
Belthasas asks, "mayhaps something of a great forest, with massive oaks?"
Whistfylle says, "Belthases was next I believe.. when this one is through."
Talairi asks, "Belthases?"
Belthasas nods to Talairi.
Talairi asks, "Do you have a question?"
Belthasas says, "aye, I think that it should be just that each race have a homeland and working community"
Talairi peers quizzically at Belthasas.
Belthasas says, "such as a forest community for Sylvans"
Talairi says, "Yes.. that will hopefully be built next year.."
Belthasas says, "we need a place to call home I think"
Talairi says, "I want to address what I can do for you all now"
Belthasas says, "I can tell you great tales of the beauty and spleandor of my homeland if you wish"
Whistfylle says, "Yenfi is next"
Whistfylle smiles at Belthasas.
Yenfi stands up.
Talairi says, "Belthases, as long as you don't represent that as being from Yuriqen, you're fine with the official stance"
Talairi asks, "Yenfi?"
Yenfi says, "I beleive that its not home that we need its communication"
Belthasas says, "aye, not from Yriquen"
Talairi asks, "How do you see that communication being accomplished?"
Belthasas nods to Yenfi.
Yenfi says, "to build a civilization is to destroy wild life"
Yenfi says, "add corruption where there is not"
Belthasas asks, "mayhaps we could discuss that further?"
Lionsbeard says, "to build a civilization is to advance as a culture"

Talairi asks, "Is there something I can build.. a meeting place in a forest someplace, thatwill serve until Yuriqen comes to light?"
Tianni says, "Yes ma'am."
Talairi asks, "The question to that would be, where?"
Yenfi says, "druids build meeting places called coves"
Yenfi says, "that would do"
Macillus raises his hand.
Yenfi says, "make it lush and with fauna, not like this tent in the middle of town"
Talairi says, "Okay, I'm noting down that idea."
Macillus raises his hand.
Belthasas says, "perhaps a hidden vale and secret passage from Icemule to the Elven Nations"
Talairi asks, "Who is next?"
Talairi peers quizzically at Whistfylle.
Yenfi sits down.
Whistfylle says, "Linora"
Belthasas says, "the northern passage"
Talairi asks, "Linora?"
Linora asks, "Did you just say that as long as we didn't represent ourselves as being from Yuriqen, we were fine with the official stance?"
Linora peers quizzically at Talairi.
Belthasas says, "mutter liner-lands"
Linora asks, "Or did I misunderstand that?"
Belthasas mutters linear.
Talairi says, "Here is the problem.. Yuriqen has been closed up for countless years."
You ask, "Sealed by magic, wasn't it?"
Linora says, "So if we represent ourselves as being from that forest, and having left to try and find a cure for the curse, we're..."
Linora babbles something unintelligible.
Talairi says, "We want to open it up.. but have not decided how to do so. So, I don't really want to release any documentation.. since it isn't really plausible that any real facts have come out of Yuriqen."
Linora asks, "We're 'coloring outside the lines', so to speak?"
Linora says, "That's the problem.. there ISN'T any documentation. There's ideas and stories various people may have written, but we just don't know if it's possible for people to leave, or stumble across it, or what."
Atania nods to Linora.
Linora says, "There's no sort of direction at all for us about Yuriqen."
Linora asks, "Ok. It exists. It's a forest. It's rumored to be cursed.. that's all you can possibly tell us?"
Talairi says, "However, bands of Sylvans left Yuriqen before it was closed off. It is reasonable to expect that those bands would have developed into communities that generated their own customs and societies."
Whistfylle says, "If you think I missed your hand, please whisper to me."
Talairi says, "So.. while you can develope customs that apply to a community of Sylvans.. I can't officiate any of them at this point."
Linora says, "And can you point me, or anyone, point me to where Yuriqen is discussed in the official docs? I can't find that part in the histories, and I was looking."
Talairi asks, "My question to you is.. what can I do now for you? What are your wishes...?"
Linora sighs.
You raise your hand.
Linora says, "I withdraw the question, go to the next person."
Atania says, "Legends, stories, famous people, Arkati knowledge."
Talairi asks, "Whist, who is next?"
Eloral nods to Atania.
Linora shakes her head.
Whistfylle says, "Lionsbeard"

Eloral asks, "have any -concrete- ideas or guidelnes for the sylvan culture been discussed among staff? if so what are the current propsals/ideas?"
Talairi furrows her brow.
Talairi says, "Okay.. not among Staff. I'm the staff you got"
Talairi chuckles.
Eloral grins.
Talairi says, "I have always been interested in the Sylvans.."
Eloral says, "ok, do you have any concrete ideas."
Talairi says, "But only just recently got the real approval to be your guru"
Eloral asks, "as to what you could do now .. why not some myths .. don't make them global, just a small subculture..ie define what it is to be a sylph in ONE subculture?"
Belthasas says, "Sylvans are the essence of Elven"
Talairi says, "I want to build Yuriqen for you.. and make your history. However, I have other assignments too."
Talairi says, "There is also the snag, as I mentioned.. that I want to know what Yuriqen is going to be in order to know how to write the history"
Talairi says, "So, I want to know -- now -- what I can do for you.."
Yenfi raises his hand.
Eloral says, "That I can understand ... but think of a band of merry sylphs that escaped and went and founded comunity X. By no means defines sylvanhood, but hey iit guves us something"
Atania nods to Eloral.
Songowl raises his hand.
Talairi says, "Eloral.. I see multiple towns being established after the bands left Yuriqen"
Eloral says, "thus you don't tie your hands with the Y thing and yet we get some culture."
Talairi says, "Some more forestal than others."
Eloral says, "Indeed."
Eloral nods to Talairi.
Eloral asks, "yet one?"
Eloral smiles.
Talairi says, "Which leaves us open for much of your own development"

Whistfylle says, "I believe what we're all seeking is just a tiny bit, at the least, of history for now.."

Whistfylle says, "Nothing global.. Perhaps just a sect.."
Eloral says, "exactly."
Talairi says, "however, they don't have a city too. The elves got that.. and it took the entire staff months to build"
Eloral says, "just ONE of the POSSIBILTIES fleshed out."
Whistfylle says, "Jusr so that we have -something- concrete."
Talairi says, "Well.."
Eloral says, "not build, just stories, etc."
Talairi says, "How about this"
Talairi says, "Suppose I do an ancient tome.."
Belthasas says, "As I understand it, the elven desire has been to be at peace and harmony with nature and the forest in particular, desiring more to encompass the spirit of the earth than to contribute to the war machines of the clashing cultures of the fields of war."
Wycamoon turns an inquisitive ear towards Talairi.
Talairi says, "It would offer some basic concepts.. basic truths to the Sylvan way of being"
Iscikella nods to Talairi.

Whistfylle smiles at Talairi.

Linora asks, "And surely somewhere, someone has documented the fact Yuriqen just up and disappeared/got blocked off?"
Talairi says, "Not concrete dos and don'ts.."
Eloral says, "one word. YES, two words yes please."
Linora says, "I mean.."

Belthasas says, "thus the arts of magic are close to our lives"

Driikn says, "i think what Talairi is saying, there isn't much of official documentation since noone has been able to get into Yuriquen since it has been sealed, but we need to look amnognst ourselves and search into our souls and hearts to find what we looking for"
Whistfylle says, "If it's to be built, she doesnt want to have an official history for it yet.. Because she does not know exactly how it will be when it is built."
Iscikella says, "I'm not looking for history of Yuriqen. Just for some simple sylvan mores."
Atania nods to Iscikella.

Talairi says, "Okay.. I'll put in a request to have that added to the schedule. And think there should be no problem. It should go into the Jan schedule"
Driikn says, "look into your hearts for that, for a true sylvan i think should be able to find what we are attuned to"

Talairi asks, "Now.. what next?"

Whistfylle says, "Driikin's next if he has a question.."

Talairi asks, "Want to hear the real story of the process of Y to date?"

Driikn says, "is there anyplace i can look"
Talairi asks, "Is that a yes from everyone or do you know already?"
Driikn says, "that has any unoffical documentation about sylvans"

Talairi says, "He came to me and asked me if I would like to take over a 'pet' project of his.."

Talairi says, "He had already concepted the 7 great Modwirs"
Talairi says, "And so I started building."
Talairi says, "He also assigned quite a number of other GMs to the project.."
Talairi says, "Aephir to do the creatures.. etc."
You ask, "7 great Modwirs?"
Talairi says, "I was constructing rooms.. and even ran a character that purported to be from there"
Eloral nods.
Talairi says, "Then, the town got put on back-burner"
Talairi says, "And it has never succeeded in getting back on the active schedule."
Talairi says, "However, I have discussed it with Llearyn.."
Talairi says, "And she does want to see it get built."
Talairi says, "Which is a good bet that it will be"
Eloral asks, "How frustrating. Why did it get put on the back burner?"
Talairi says, "So.. through the years, I've had to rethink the history of the city a number of times."
Talairi says, "Now then.."
Talairi says, "That brings us up to the present"
Talairi says, "I want to try to give you sylvan folks some things you think would help you play Sylvans, while at the same time, keep the Sylvan history as open as it can be to what the city turns out to be"
Talairi asks, "Okay.. Whist.. who is next?"
Whistfylle says, "Whatever the sylvan history turns out to be, I'll likely be the complete opposite.. Taniah is next."
Talairi asks, "Taniah?"
Taniah says, "ok this is gonna take a second"
Taniah asks, "sylvans are known for being artists?"
You hold up your hand and tilt it side to side in a so-so gesture.
Taniah says, "what I would like to see is maybe being able to learn skills from painting building a great library and culutural stuff"
Talairi says, "Sylvans are known for being many things.. but I have a vision that their cities and crafts are quiet equisite"
Talairi says, "quite even"
Taniah says, "like the dwarves have talent in forging.we can get talent in sewing..painting and such"
Iscikella scratches her head.
Taniah says, "so Id like to see us have workshops"
Talairi says, "The Sylvans have many talents.. architecture, pottery, and of course, anything to do with arrows"
Taniah says, "I figured it could add to the rp stuff as well as gaining skills"
Talairi says, "One thing is set.. The sylvans don't like any metals other than those of a silvery nature"
Taniah says, "like trading or such"
Talairi asks, "Who is next please?"
Whistfylle says, "Atania."
Taniah says, "figured plating skills"
Taniah shrugs.
Talairi asks, "Atania?"
Atania says, "Why is the Elven Dogma associated with the sylph part of the website? It reads to me like a Elven document."
Talairi says, "Probably because the folks who did the website didn't realize how different they are"
Atania asks, "Could that be changed?"
Talairi says, "Yes, as soon as we have something to replace it with"
Eloral says, "she has a point, it almost sounds like they are one more house."
Driikn says, "the elven dogma is very interesting"
Atania says, "Why have anything at all? I'd rather have nothing then something that is wrong."
Driikn nods to Atania.
Rilven raises her hand.
Talairi says, "You can count on the Sylvan docs to be completely different than that Elven Dogma thing"
Talairi mutters under her breath.
Iscikella nods to Atania.
Iscikella exclaims, "Good!"
Iscikella beams happily at Talairi!
Iscikella clasps her hand over her mouth.
Iscikella blushes a delicate shade of pink.
Talairi chuckles.
Atania says, "But until then, it creates conflict in creating a sylph character."
Talairi asks, "Who is next?"
Whistfylle says, "Macillus has the next question"
Driikn says, "one thing id like to see Talairi is a vast library kind of like the one in Illistim once the documentation is found"
Macillus says, "Well"
Eloral asks, "could that book you'll be developing serve as a step in the web then?"
Driikn nods to Talairi.
Macillus says, "Twas more of a statement eh"
Talairi says, "Atania.. you can run your character without referring to the website"
Talairi smiles.
Macillus says, "Fer whatcha kin do fer us now"
Talairi says, "Eloral, I can check on it."
Atania says, "Not the point. But my turn is passed."
Eloral bows.
Talairi asks, "Yes, Macillus?"
Macillus says, "Ok fer now then"
Macillus asks, "Hows about a small grove or two eh?"
Macillus says, "Jus a place to rest, peaceful an the like"
Talairi says, "Okay.. get together and write up a request.. as to where the 1 to 2 groves would be. And what makes them Sylvan.."
Macillus asks, "I personally would likes a nice pine grove near the mule eh?"
Whistfylle says, "Something like the Glade near Ronan's shrine would be fitting, I suppose."
Whistfylle chuckles.
Talairi asks, "Whist.. who is next?"
Whistfylle says, "Kahlthnor is next."
Talairi asks, "Kahlthnor?"
You ask, "I was curious. Were you thinking something like Frostacres where it can be accessed from any town, or were you thinking about something like a room off an established trail?"
Driikn says, "Sylvarraend is a beautiful small community, it truely is Macillus"
Driikn says, "sorry"
You say, "For the meeting place for sylvans that is."
Talairi says, "Ah.. well, I would think that it would need to be fixed for it to be IC"
You ask, "A room in every town where only sylvans are allowed in?"
You ask, "Like the profession guilds?"
Ranpalandil raises his hand.
You say, "Only not so elaborate."
Talairi says, "I already have permission to build the neighborhood near Sylvanreneer..whatever"
You chuckle.
Rilven appears to be trying hard not to grin.

Yenfi asks, "1 why would we need a history written, isnt it neat that its open ended?"
Yenfi says, "it makes sense that our ancestors passed knowledge by mouth than book"
Talairi says, "Well, I personally think that it's rather nice that you all have the freedom to develop histories from different towns, villages and settlements"
