[Hall of the Seas]
This room is perfectly spherical, like the inside of a crystal ball, except for the circular, sandstone-paved floor.  Rather than the depthless blue of glacial ice, these walls reveal a seascape of sand, coral, and waving beds of kelp surrounding you on each side.  A small school of herring can be seen swimming here and there, not only behind the walls but overhead as well.  You also see a driftwood altar and a glacial ice altar.

You exclaim, "And here we are!"

Elaerina smiles.

Councilor Jenavive just arrived.

Kraiz just arrived.

Amadicias just arrived.

Jenavive says, "Ah ha."

You say, "Please be seated."

Evesong observes her surroundings with a keen eye.

Jenavive curtsies.

Mitheirien sits down.

You smile at Jenavive.

Jenavive sits down.

Moswell sits down.

Djynni smiles softly.

Amadicias sits down.

Speaking softly to Jenavive, Djynni says, "'Ello."

Wighhay sits down.

Ichiko sits down.

Speaking to Jenavive, you exclaim, "Evening, Councilor!"

Idallia sits down.

Evesong smiles slightly.

Laeyandra sits down.

Jenavive says, "Good eve."

You say, "So glad ye could come."

Jenavive smiles sunnily.

Jenavive nods.

Ichiko stretches.

Jenavive says, "Me too, glad to make it."

Marclar smiles at Jenavive.

You say, "If everyone will take a seat, we will get started."

Marclar bows to Jenavive.

Djynni sits down.

Wighhay cracks his knuckles!

You say, "Our lecturer for this eve is Kateerina."

(Marclar quietly takes a seat in the back)

Marclar sits down.

Andriatta sits down.

Evesong sits down.

You say, "She is going to speak to us on Niima."

You say, "Please be kind enough to give her yer full attention."

Djynni turns to face Kateerina.

(Kateerina brushes a stray lock of hair from her eyes and smiles to the crowd gathered)

Djynni turns an inquisitive ear towards Kateerina.

You say, "And save all questions and comments until she opens the floor to them."

You smile.

Djynni leans forward and rests her chin in her hand, a thoughtful expression on her face.

Mitheirien turns an inquisitive ear towards Kateerina.

Laeyandra smiles at Kateerina.

You nod to Kateerina.

Kateerina smiles.

Aydan sits down.

(Iscikella moves to the back of the room.)

You sit down.

Laeyandra turns an inquisitive ear towards Kateerina.

Kateerina recites:
    "I welcome you all here this eve. My name is Kateerina D'Arcmoor. I have been asked to talk to you this eve about my Lady Niima and some of her followers worship practices. I am not a holy person. I have never been graced by the arkati with the powers of healing nor of life giving. So my views of Niima perhaps may seem simple and less refined than some others you may hear."

Kateerina flushes slightly, some color reaching her cheeks.

Kateerina recites:
    "Lady Niima is one of the lesser Arkati. She was not one of the original but was born of two. Lord Charl and another Arkati lost long ago in the Ur-Daemon War. Although there have been stories told by the old ones who claim Niima's mother was mortal and took the shape of a dolphin. One reason perhaps for her symbol of a grey or silver dolphin on a field of blue: a way to honor her mother. No matter which is true, there is no denying that her father is Lord Charl for at times her temper equals his."

You quietly whisper to Jenavive, "Sorry I missed yer thought, but ye found yer way in any case."

You smile at Jenavive.

Elaerina smiles.

Jenavive whispers, "Yep!  You walked right by me, so I just followed!  No problem at all."

A starbust of silver and crimson sparks erupts from the sylvarraend ruby that is on Kateerina's forehead.

Kateerina recites:
    "As a Cleric of Niima once told me: Lady Niima is the calm in the eye of the great storm of Charl. No matter how great his rage, my Lady is his calm place."

A perfect sylvarraend ruby that Kateerina is wearing grows still as she taps it.

Kateerina smiles nervously before continuing

Kateerina recites:
    "Lady Niima, named the Wavedancer, is commonly known as patron of the waters, sea life and of sailors. It was quite fitting for the new cruise ship that set sail last spring to have been named after her. The waters they traveled were quite dangerous and her protection was certainly welcomed."

Laeyandra ponders.

Kateerina recites:
    "In older lore, it is also said by some that lady Niima spoke to a group of elves, long before times most can remember. This family of elves learned the craft of seafaring from her and in a way she helped form the elven house later known as Ashrim, now lost these many years."

Kateerina recites:
    "She admires the mortal form and when she appears, she seems human or elvish perhaps but no one has ever seen her in other forms that I can recall, usually with sky blue eyes and blonde hair. Her form is lovely to behold. 'Tis no wonder the sailors sing her praises in their chanties. Her human form is a common figurehead on sea going ships, especially ones that wish to gather her father's favor."

Orison just arrived.

Amadicias loses her focused look.

Orison shuffles his feet.

Orison sits down.

Kateerina rubs her amethyst windflower.

Kateerina recites:
    "A favorite plant of hers is the anemone. There is a story that shows her personality centered about the plant. The old ones say that an elven child saw Niima dancing in the waves covered in colorful anemones. The child cried because she wanted some of the flowers. But Niima, knowing they would die out of water, refused. The child cried until she became sick. Jaston, watching all of this took one of Niima's precious flowers and created a new one: the windflower, an anemone that could survive out of water."

(Iscikella motions for the latecomers to sit.)

You touch one finger to your lips.

(Kateerina holds up her lovely windflower for all to see)

Kateerina rubs her amethyst windflower.

Ichiko smiles.

Kateerina recites:
    "She has been known to rescue sailors from the sea as she sees fit. But the way of Niima is not always of compassion. I would akin her temperment to that of a spoiled teenager. She is willful and vengeful when she is in a vexful mood. Woe to the sailor that does not do her proper homage or to the mortal that speaks her name in negative light. Her father, the Lord Charl, who is known for his temper, dotes on her and does not hesitate to come to her side and avenge any wrongdoing against her."

Kateerina softly says, "It is almost inpossible to worship my lady without having some knowledge and perhaps fondness for her protective father."

Kateerina recites:
    "Niima is worshiped in several areas of the Turamzzyrian Empire
      Torre being one and Allace another. The temple in Torre is lovely I hear but not as lovely as our temple in Solhaven."

Andriatta leans forward and rests her chin in her hand, a thoughtful expression on her face.

Kateerina recites:
    "In Torre, many young girls are dedicated to the temple at an early age. There are many reasons why infant girls are dedicated, but the most popular one is that she was born into a family of sailors who fathered too many girl children.  The family has one less daughter to dower and gains Niima's favor while the temple has new novices to train. There are priests of Niima as well but they seem to be few and I have only met one or two."

Aydan looks lost in thought.

Kateerina recites:
    "In Allace, many a young girl can find employment on ships if they have been made in the image of Niima. For is has been noted that Lord Charl is more kind to those ships carrying the image of his beloved daughter and softens with the site of such a lass onboard. These ships will find the waters calmer and the winds more favorable. Fishing ships will find the currents guide them to more bountiful fishing grounds."

Kateerina recites:
    "All races that have a connection to the sea have been known to worship my lady and her lord father. Recently I had the chance to hear a retelling of a Erithian wedding ceremony. I had no idea they had strong ties to Niima as well. Niima plays an important part in the ceremonies of the Nathala Dai. "

Kateerina recites:
    "In a wedding ceremony the bride gathered Mussels, anemones, conch, and small fingerling fishes to honor her new family.  I say new family because when a woman marries she severs all ties with her birth family and becomes a part of her husband's family. She is painted with colors made from herbs that bring protection from Lady Niima and wisdom from Lady Lumnis. The bride's mother had stitched a wedding sash over the course of many years in anticipation of her daughter's wedding. Each stitch made was sewn with a prayer to Lady Lumnis and Lady Niima."

Wighhay nods.

Kateerina recites:
    "I so would like to see more of these ceremonies and speak with some of the Nathala Dai about more of their traditions."

Kateerina recites:

    "I am not a priestess of my lady and I certainly do not pretend to know all of her rituals and secrets. I had a chance to sit in the garden in Niima's temple in Solhaven and speak to a novice of the abbey. She is called Wavedancer of the temple. I wondered how she received that title since Lady Niima is also the Wavedancer."

Kateerina recites:
    "Each temple houses what they call a Wavedancer or dancer of rituals. This girl learned certain special ceremonies that are carried out in dance
      hence the name. She is marked for such a life from her first dedication. She must be formed in our lady's image. At certain high tides and full moons she performs her dances here in this garden for the temple and for the Lady Niima herself. She eventually takes to the surf in her dance and lady Niima will sometimes send the dolphins to join. She worships Niima through her dances marked with the fluid movements of her body. As if she was part of the waves herself."

Kateerina recites:
    "The Lady Niima is also known to send dolphins, her handmaidens, to help those in need, to guide, protect or just watch for her. It was how I was led to her temple: by an old dolphin."

Laeyandra smiles at Kateerina.

Kateerina recites:
    "Lady Niima, the Wavedancer and Mistress of the Sea, is kind and generous watching all in her domain. She tempers her father's anger and soothes his foul moods. While the sailors worship Charl and do what they can to gain favor for their ships, they sing and toast Lady Niima for her beauty and hope she will smile on them in their time of need."

Kateerina flushes slightly, some color reaching her cheeks.

Kateerina smiles at the crowd gathered.

Djynni applauds Kateerina.

Amadicias looks intensely uncomfortable for a moment.

You smile at Kateerina.

Orison fidgets.

Kateerina softly says, "As I said I am not a priestess nor holy one, just a simple lass who loves her Lady."

Ichiko smiles at Kateerina.

Kateerina softly says, "If any would ask questions I would answer as I can."

Elaerina smiles at Kateerina.

Kateerina softly says, "Or perhaps someone has had a different experience or thought of the lady Niima."

Moswell asks, "Do you know anything about the ruined temple of wavedancer across the bay in River's Rest?"

Kateerina softly says, "I have been there once."

Kateerina nods to Moswell.

(Marclar sips at his absinthe as he listens intently)

Evesong shifts her weight.

Wighhay raises his hand.

Evesong flushes slightly, some color reaching her cheeks.

Kateerina softly says, "The shrine there."

Kateerina softly says, "Well perhaps it is not the happiest of places but interesting."

Kateerina softly says, "A lone priest was cast from his order."

Jenavive cocks her head at Kateerina.

Kateerina softly says, "He was ordered to meet the needs of the poor and criminals of the area."

You rub your chin thoughtfully.

Kateerina softly says, "His one chance to redeem himself."

Marclar peers quizzically at Kateerina.

Kateerina softly says, "A being, a person, I know not which came to the area. ."

Laeyandra cocks her head at Kateerina.

Andriatta leans forward.

Kateerina softly says, "Terrible beasts came and attacked and the marsh thefre grew."

Kateerina softly says, "It became a terrible place."

Laeyandra furrows her brow.

Kateerina softly says, "And the priest abandoned his post, his poor flock in their time of need."

Andriatta shivers.

Djynni winces.

Evesong nods to Marclar.

Kateerina softly says, "He abandoned her temple."

Laeyandra frowns.

Elaerina frowns.

Kateerina softly says, "I only was there once and was not able to speak to any who lived at this time."

Moswell asks, "Did you read the book on the altar?"

Kateerina softly says, "But one can only hope the lady forgave him or that his end was merciful."

Kateerina nods to Moswell.

Kateerina softly says, "It told the story but not enough for my curiosity."

Moswell nods to Kateerina.

Kateerina softly says, "I still hope to find one who may know more someday."

Moswell nods to Kateerina.

Laeyandra nods to Kateerina.

Kateerina softly says, "The shrine, in the middle of the harsh lands, seems at peace."

Moswell says, "It is a safe haven to those that hunt there."

Kateerina nods.

Djynni softly says, "The eye in the calm of the storm."

Kateerina softly says, "She favors it still."

Kateerina nods.

Kateerina softly says, "Aye."

Elaerina says, "I wonder if that priest's spirit has been set to guard it as penence."

Laeyandra nods to Elaerina.

Kateerina softly says, "It would have been a fitting end to him."

Moswell says, "I have not seen any ghost about the place yet I have rested there many times."

Kateerina softly says, "A chance to clense his soul of the wrongs he did in life."

Kateerina nods to Moswell.

Amadicias gives her hair a small tug.  Odd.

Kateerina smiles at those gathered looking for any other words or questions.

Laeyandra raises her hand.

Aydan says, "The comment about the girls in Torre being given to Niima's temple if their family couldn't support them wasn't something I had known. Piqued my interest because I was raised under a similar sort of circumstance, though I was given to the temples of Ronan and Lumnis instead of Niima."

Kateerina nods to Laeyandra.

Laeyandra flushes slightly, some color reaching her cheeks.

Aydan hums quietly to himself.

Aydan says, "That's all I was gonna say."

Aydan winks at Laeyandra.

Laeyandra nods to Aydan.

Laeyandra smiles at Aydan.

Wighhay raises his hand.

You chuckle at Aydan.

Kateerina softly says, "Interesting point to be sure.. The novice I met was given under such circumstances."

Jenavive whispers, "If you or Kateerina want to do a few trivia questions when you're ready to wrap up this segment, I'd be happy to supply some prizes on behalf of Icemule's Council."

Evesong shifts her weight.

Kateerina softly says, "It was tradition for her family of sailors to give a girl child to the temple."

Laeyandra ponders.

Kateerina softly says, "I would think many temples have that custom."

You quietly whisper to Jenavive, "I will inform Kateerina.  I can provide some other questions for folks, not all on Niima though, as well."

Laeyandra nods to Kateerina.

Wighhay quietly says, "Scuse me...my lady."

Kateerina softly says, "From families who especially wish to gain favor."

Kateerina softly says, "Or right a wrong the family may have commited."

Laeyandra looks thoughtfully at Kateerina.

Aydan says, "It's one many have in the Empire, but it wasn't common where I was raised... but those other two people had questions and I didn't raise my hand."

Aydan smiles.

Kateerina softly says, "Children are often pawns in a larger games I have found."

Wighhay works his fingers under his leather helm and scratches his head.

Kateerina smiles.

Kateerina nods to Laeyandra.

You quietly whisper to Kateerina, "Councilor Jenavive just wanted to let you know that, if after folks have finished their questions, you have some trivia questions for them, she can bestow prizes on behalf of the IceMule Town Council.  I can provide some trivia questions for this if needed, though unfortunately not all on Niima."

Kateerina softly asks, "Yes?"

Laeyandra ducks her head.

Laeyandra smiles at Kateerina.

Kateerina whispers, "That sounds very nice."

Wighhay quietly says, "I know not for sure how my people cam to honor Niima, though ther are those who think we Erithians descended from ancient elven people, so it may tie in with the story of Niima granting the elves sailing."

You quietly whisper to Jenavive, "I let her know, and she is agreeable, once folks have had their questions answered."

Evesong smiles slightly.

Wighhay quietly says, "However, if you have ever used the services of the travel guides, they are Erithian. So I personally feel it is more a matter of we journey, not nescessarily on the water...so look to her for protection. ."

Jenavive whispers, "Great!"

Wighhay quietly asks, "I journey here in this Frozen land, and what is snow, but frozen water?"

Wighhay grins.

Wighhay ducks his head.

Kateerina nods to Wighhay.

Laeyandra grins at Wighhay.

Kateerina softly says, "Very true."

Elaerina grins.

Kateerina softly says, "I also must admit I do not know as much of your people as I would."

Wighhay quietly asks, "Does anyone, really?"

Kateerina softly says, "It would just happen I met a couple who told me of their marriage ceremony."

Wighhay sighs smile.

You quietly whisper to Kateerina, "Let me know when everything seems wrapped up, as I don't want to cut anyone off.  And if you want to do some questions, let me know that.  Or if want me to provide some, please let me know that too."

Kateerina softly says, "Nay  I would say most do not."

Wighhay smiles sighly

Elaerina says, "I do not think you want gnomes prying too much."

Evesong shifts her weight.

Elaerina chuckles.

Andriatta begins chuckling at Elaerina!

Laeyandra grins at Elaerina.

Kateerina softly says, "I would know more I hope in the future. It was interesting as people in my village had not such elaborate meaningful customs."

Wighhay quietly says, "Tis true that a woman does sever all ties..."

Evesong nods to Marclar.

Wighhay grins.

Kateerina smiles.

Kateerina turns to face Laeyandra.

Laeyandra grins at Kateerina.

Wighhay stretches his arms out in front of him, attempting to loosen the tension in his neck and shoulders.

Laeyandra asks, "Now?"

Laeyandra giggles.

Kateerina softly says, "Thank you for your patience."

Kateerina grins.

Kateerina flushes slightly, some color reaching her cheeks.

Ichiko smiles at Kateerina.

Elaerina applauds Kateerina.

Elaerina flashes a wide grin.

Laeyandra says, "Twas interestin'. I nae mind."

Kateerina nods to Laeyandra.

Laeyandra grins.

Wighhay applauds Kateerina.

Amadicias applauds.

Wighhay stands up.

Andriatta applauds Kateerina.

Extending his arms straight up over his head, Wighhay draws one leg up towards the center of his body, balancing lightly on his other leg.

Andriatta says, "Folks."

Moswell applauds Kateerina.

Speaking to Kateerina, Laeyandra asks, "Can ye tell some more about the dolphin that led ye ta worhip yer lady? If its nae to personal?"

Andriatta exclaims, "We have  a treat!"

Amadicias dusts herself off.

Kateerina nods to Laeyandra.

Ichiko stands up.

Andriatta says, "So please sit back down."

Andriatta chuckles.

Kateerina softly says, "I can ."

Wighhay peers quizzically at Andriatta.

Laeyandra blushes a nice shade of off-pink.

Ichiko sits down.

Wighhay sits down.

Kateerina softly says, "One more question please."

Kateerina smiles.

Marclar raises an eyebrow.

Kateerina softly says, "A dolphin would come to marshtown where I lived with my husband Silverwolf."

Kateerina softly says, "He would swim and dance along the docks."

Kateerina softly says, "I would spend hours watching."

Laeyandra nods to Kateerina.

Laeyandra leans forward and rests her chin in her hand, a thoughtful expression on her face.

Kateerina softly says, "At the time."

(Kateerina gazes about fearfully)

Kateerina softly says, "I nay believed in the powers of any arkati."

Laeyandra nods to Kateerina.

Kateerina softly says, "I was angry at them."

Evesong looks thoughtfully at Kateerina.

Kateerina softly says, "I hated them almost and turned all contact away."

Marclar raises an eyebrow.

(Marclar frowns slightly)

Kateerina softly says, "Ronan's dreamwalker spoke to me one eve and I bade her go away."

Djynni blinks.

Kateerina softly says, "You see.. my village was attacked when I was small and my mother taken away from krolvins."

Elaerina nods to Kateerina.

Evesong ponders.

Kateerina softly says, "I was the only one who survived as I was playing in the trees away from the other children. They did not want me near them as my blood was not true."

Laeyandra shivers.

Laeyandra frowns.

Kateerina softly says, "My prayers were not answered that day and I grew in anger as a young child might."

Mitheirien nods to Kateerina.

Kateerina softly says, "I loved that old dolphin."

Laeyandra smiles at Kateerina.

Laeyandra nods to Kateerina.

Andriatta grins at Kateerina.

Kateerina softly says, "And one day when exploring the temples with my husband."

Kateerina softly says, "Silverwolf and I went to Niima's temple."

Kateerina softly says, "We saw the old dolphin in the waters off the temple garden and went swimming with him."

Kateerina softly says, "We fell asleep by the fountain and I awoke to a humming."

Laeyandra grins at Kateerina.

Kateerina softly says, "And the statue in the center of the fountain seemed to shimmer."

Andriatta cocks her head at Kateerina.

Kateerina softly says, "And the lady spoke to me... she told me she answered my mother's prayers that day, the only ones she had the power to at the time and she had sent the dolphin to watch me."

Laeyandra beams happily at Kateerina!

Kateerina softly says, "She left behind this flower ."

Djynni smiles softly.

Kateerina rubs her amethyst windflower.

Elaerina smiles at Kateerina.

You smile.

Laeyandra smiles at Kateerina.

Kateerina softly says, "I was angry all my life."

Laeyandra says, "Oooh, 'tis pretty."

Laeyandra sighs.

Laeyandra nods to Kateerina.

Evesong looks thoughtfully at Kateerina.

Kateerina softly says, "And it was my mother's prayers not mine who had been answered."

Laeyandra smiles at Kateerina.

Kateerina softly says, "I know my mother is out there somewhere on a Krolvin island. I will find her. Niima said I would."

Laeyandra nods to Kateerina.

Kateerina softly says, "Someday."

Ichiko nods to Kateerina.

You smile at Kateerina.

Djynni smiles at Kateerina.

Kateerina whispers, "Would you help gather some questions and it sounds fun."

You nod to Kateerina.

Speaking to Kateerina, Laeyandra says, "I'm glad ye found faith in somethin'. And thank ye fer sharin' that story M'lady."

Mitheirien squeals.

Kateerina softly says, "I still see the dolphin watching from time to time."

Laeyandra beams happily at Kateerina!

Kateerina smiles.

Kateerina softly says, "You are welcome."

You stand back up.

You say, "I want to thank Kateerina for speaking to us."

Kateerina softly says, "I am gla as well for my heart is much lighter."

You smile at Kateerina.

Djynni applauds Kateerina.

You say, "As if that was not treat enough."

You chuckle.

Marclar braces himself with his faewood staff and tries to push himself to his feet.

Marclar stands up.

Speaking quietly to Kateerina, Wighhay says, "And I shall add a few prayer this you find your mother."

Evesong leans on her runestaff.

Ichiko nods.

Wighhay removes some varicolored wooden prayerbeads inlaid with crimson lutes from in his belt pouch.

Laeyandra grins at Wighhay.

Ichiko stands up.

You say, "Councilor Jenavive has generously offered, on the part of the Town Council, to provide prizes to those who can answer a trivia question or two."

Jenavive nods.

Djynni giggles.

Elaerina grins.

Laeyandra grins.

Wighhay absentmindedly rubs his fingers across his wooden prayerbeads.

Mitheirien giggles at Amadicias!

Elaerina stands up.

Jenavive says, "Small prizes, but something to remember this lovely event with perhaps."

Jenavive smiles.
