Niiman, day 15 of Imaerasta in the year 5105
(Thursday, September 15, 2005)

************
TECHNICAL NOTE:
This log is from the standpoint of Iscikella Zinnonn. It is has but lightly edited to remove background "noise".

[Hall of the Lovers]
Twin wooden altars stand at the base of this triangular room, and large panels of dark stained glass run along each side.  Moonlight streaming into the room through shafts cut deep into the ice strike the panes and bathe the room in a cool, silvery glow, casting faint shadows all around.
Obvious exits: northeast, southwest
Ceyrin, Farn, Zadya, Drizzient, Ranad, Tallula, Whistfylle, Debia, Tarkisis, Mallac, Chills, Andriatta, Kessek and Ichiko followed.

You say, "Pleasse all be seated."

Kessek stretches.

Kessek sits down.

Tallula kneels down.

Ichiko sits down.

Chills sits down.

Debia sits down.

Farn sits down.

Mallac sits down.

Drizzient sits down.

Ceyrin sits down.

Andriatta sits down.

Debia stands up.

You say, "Our lecturer this eve is Whistfylle."

Tallula smiles at Whistfylle.

You say, "Who is going to talk to us on Laethe."

Ceyrin calmly says, "I thought she was going to tell us how to stop losing love."

Ranad frowns at Ceyrin.

Kessek begins chuckling at Ceyrin!

Whistfylle smirks.

You say, "Please be so kind as to give her yer full attention."

Ranad chuckles.

Tarkisis glances at Ceyrin.

You say, "And hold all questions and comments until she opens the floor to them."

You nod.

You nod to Whistfylle.

Whistfylle says, "Mm. Allright, then."

(Iscikella moves to the back of the room.)

You sit down.

Ceyrin steeples his fingers in his lap, quietly observing his surroundings.

Zadya grins at Whistfylle.

Ranad folds his hands behind his back.

Whistfylle says, "What is Laethe's realm? His symbol, that of a black rose, is indicative of his nature. In the language of flowers, it implies death and mourning."

Ranad smiles quietly to himself.

Whistfylle says, "I would answer... he exists wherever lovers part in sorrow, wherever someone weeps for what might have been... where someone mourns.. there he is."

Debia removes a wild black rose from in her long dark suede robe.
Debia offers Whistfylle a wild black rose.

Whistfylle grins at Debia.

Whistfylle accepts Debia's black rose.

Tarkisis glances at Debia.

Speaking quietly to Debia, Whistfylle says, "Thank you darling."

Debia nods.

Whistfylle says, "He overlaps the spheres of many Arkati. First and most obvious, he works in tandem with his twin Voaris. If there is a chance for reconcilliation... It is Laethe who would support the lovers in the sadness of their parting, while his twin guided them back to one another."

Drizzient removes a black rose petal from in his black backpack.

Drizzient sniffs at his rose petal.

Whistfylle says, "Both, I believe, are under the tutelage of Oleani, in absence of their parents. Love infuses them all, it is what drives them."

Whistfylle says, "The Goddess' son, Tonis, is the messenger. Here Laethe has also borrowed, it is custom to leave notes for those who have been lost at his shrines. Surely in his compassion he could not leave them lie."

Whistfylle says, "Mularos. Perhaps the most sinister connection. While Laethe's nature is protective, Mularos would imflame the pain, drawing power from the ache of a broken heart as much as he does from flayed skin."

Drizzient grins evilly.

Whistfylle says, "As you may or may not be aware, my loyalties lie not only with Lord Laethe, but with the Goddess Zelia as well."

Kessek nods.

Whistfylle traces the lines of her crescent moon tattoo.

(Ceyrin frowns visibly.)

Zadya smiles.

Tallula blinks.

Whistfylle says, "Zelia would heal us with the soft, silvery tough of clarity... of insanity or forgetfulness. Laethe would, with the salve of a happy memory, piece the broken heart together as whole once more."

You lean forward and rest your chin in your hand, a thoughtful expression on your face.

Zadya appears to be trying hard not to grin.

Whistfylle says, "Which method is cruder? Surely one is less time consuming, but both serve much the same end."

Whistfylle says, "It is my belief that he must also have a working relationship with Gosaena, either to slip past her gate, or to request a favor of her, to check whose love may have passed into her realm."

Chills leans forward.

Whistfylle folds her hands behind her back.

Whistfylle says, "Laethe is a solace-bringer, an empath of the Arkati. He does not wish our pain, but to nullify or gain acceptance of that pain. Not neccessarily to forget but to never regret."

Whistfylle says, "He helps us to release, when there is naught left for us but hurt... he gives us hope when all indications point otherwise."

Whistfylle says, "Due to his nature, it is... difficult to say what manner of devotion would most please Laethe."

Whistfylle says, "To live in a state of constant heartache is surely not what he would wish, for that would only injure him."

Whistfylle says, "To recover from this pain, and to remember its object fondly, and without regret, is the truest form of worship that a common person can hope to give him. He may never recover from his loss, but in a way, through us, he can achieve peace."

Whistfylle says, "To use Laethe in times of grieving, and to devote yourself to him are two different things entirely."

Whistfylle softly says, "I am one of the Lovelorn.. Though the ache has dulled over the centuries..."

Ceyrin twiddles his thumbs.

Ranad takes a moment to observe Whistfylle.

Whistfylle quietly says, "My heart cracked, then healed... again and again... each time, a piece lost... I came to realize that while I may never be whole... there are others who..."

Whistfylle clears her throat.

Whistfylle says, "..who need only a gentle touch, a word... a vessel into which they may pour their heart's anguish."

Tarkisis raises an eyebrow.

Whistfylle says, "I show my allegiance by doing his work. Consoling, counseling, offering an ear and sometimes a shoulder to those in need. To tell the story can aid immeasureably in recovery."

You cock your head at Whistfylle.

Andriatta leans forward.

Kessek becomes solid again.

Zadya ponders.

Whistfylle says, "And so.. though I am not the most sensitive of people by nature..."

Whistfylle smirks.

Whistfylle says, "I still recognize when someone is crying out for the assistance of my Lord, and as a religious woman, I offer my aid."

Whistfylle says, "Thus I will say that my prayers to Him come in the form of such sad tales, from my lips, or from those I seek to assist."

Whistfylle says, "Where can respect be paid to Laethe? I would say anywhere, but my vague answers do not often please people."

Whistfylle sighs dramatically.

Whistfylle glances at Tarkisis.

Tarkisis smirks.

Whistfylle stares off into space.

Tarkisis says, "Vague indeed."

Whistfylle says, "So I advise... There are small shrines, such as the one here in Mule. He is sometimes included in temples."

You chuckle at Tarkisis.

Whistfylle gazes in wonder at her surroundings.

Whistfylle shrugs.

Kessek grins.

Whistfylle says, "But I would offer alternatives.."

Whistfylle says, "A cemetary. Such as the Halcyon Hills. Even if you are not in need of him, and only wish to acknowledge his presence and offer a prayer..."

Whistfylle says, "Bring a flower. Place it upon a grave that has none."

Whistfylle says, "Go to a monument for those lost in a war.. such as the memorial trees for folk lost to the banaltras.. whisper a few words. He will hear."

Whistfylle says, "Go to a place of such immense loss and melancholy that it weighs in the air like a fog. Anwyn Castle is such a place.. the defiled Temple of Love.."

Ranad's eyes glaze over as he stares, unfocused, into the distance.

Drizzient shifts his weight.

Kessek gazes heavenward.

You rub your chin thoughtfully.

Whistfylle softly says, "Absorb some of the pain that lingers there. Take it upon yourself. Feel the memories of lost ones crying out for their loves..."

Whistfylle softly says, "Then take it away from that place.. meditate on those emotions.. Heal them within, and release them. You are doing the work of Laethe."

Whistfylle quietly says, "Close your eyes and listen to the soughing of the wind, or the waves of the sea. The bitter cold, here, in Mule, has taken many lives of those who were loved. Charl's watery depths have stolen even more. Offer them your prayers. Laethe will find them."

Zadya looks lost in thought.

Mallac rubs his chin thoughtfully.

Whistfylle quietly says, "Almost everyone has loved once, and lost. It is something nearly universal, that binds us, despite differences of culture and race.. of religion and outlook.. ."

Whistfylle quietly says, "I ask you, in closing, to think of that person, here in this place of my Lord... ."

Whistfylle smiles slightly, gazing at the assembled party.

Tarkisis frowns.

Kessek ponders.

Kessek sighs.

Drizzient gags.

Drizzient runs a hand over his shoulder length platinum hair, trying to make himself presentable.

Farn smirks.

You ponder.

Whistfylle quietly says, "Never forget... but remember with fondness."

Ichiko gazes heavenward.

Zadya nods.

Zadya smiles.

Tallula gazes at Whistfylle.

Whistfylle says, "And that brings a close to my lecture.. ."

Chills rubs his eyes.

Whistfylle adjusts the fit of her spectacles.

Ranad takes a moment to observe Whistfylle.

Ranad nods.

Zadya smiles at Whistfylle.

Whistfylle sniffs at a small rose.

Kessek clenches his fist.

Whistfylle asks, "If there are questions? Comments?"

Ceyrin raises his hand.

Whistfylle shifts her weight.

Speaking to Ceyrin, Whistfylle asks, "Yes, darling?"

Ceyrin calmly says, "Yes, explain to me the logic behind this emotion of mourning over loss."

Ranad looks thoughtfully at Ceyrin.

You cock your head at Ceyrin.

Whistfylle stares off into space.

You turn to face Whistfylle.

Tarkisis smirks.

Zadya appears to be trying hard not to grin.

Tarkisis gazes with interest at Ceyrin.

Kessek scratches his chin.

Whistfylle says, "If you are less vague in what you wish to know, perhaps I can answer more effectively."

Farn quietly asks, "Logic behind emotion?"

Farn chuckles to himself.

Tarkisis smirks.

Ranad says, "The words logic and emotion are oftentimes mutually exclusive."

Kessek grins at Farn.

Ranad says, "You follow either one or the other."

Ceyrin calmly says, "I am asking you to elaborate upon how this emotional connection you are stating that is so important to Lathe and His followers is of any real importance at all."

Tarkisis appears to be trying hard not to grin.

Whistfylle raises an eyebrow in Ceyrin's direction.

Ranad looks thoughtfully at Ceyrin.

Ranad glances at Whistfylle.

Ceyrin calmly says, "Perhaps you can shed some clarity on it, having spent so much time doing so."

Zadya takes a moment to observe Ceyrin.

Ranad folds his hands behind his back.

Whistfylle says, "Hrm."

Drizzient shifts his weight.

Speaking softly to Ceyrin, Whistfylle says, "You sound bitter, my dear.."

Ceyrin calmly says, "Hardly."

Ceyrin calmly says, "I am curious."

Whistfylle says, "If your heart is so barren, that love cannot grow there.. Then I suppose the depth of emotion would have no bearing to you."

Ceyrin calmly says, "Insight into the realm of complicated emotions and their outlets is something I find fascinating."

Zadya nods.

Ceyrin calmly says, "I never stated such a thing was my case."

Whistfylle shrugs.

Ceyrin smiles at Whistfylle.

Kessek says, "I can understand, a little. I personally have not lost anyone close to me, so it's a little hard to truly relate to what you were saying. From the sounds of it, Ceyrin is in the same boat as I am."

Ceyrin calmly asks, "So would it be safe to say, the importance lies within each individual on a personal basis?"

Ranad asks, "What else is faith, if not a personal thing?"

Ceyrin calmly says, "I am not speaking of faith. I am speaking of the importance of allowing yourself the personal consumption over such an emotion."

Speaking to Whistfylle, Kessek says, "That's not to distract from your lecture, though."

Kessek scratches his chin.

Whistfylle says, "If you have not truely loved and lost, then certainly, the loss and Laethe cannot apply to you."

Whistfylle chuckles.

Ranad says, "I don't think Consumption of self by an emotion was the goal."

Kessek grins.

Ceyrin calmly says, "Oh but I have."

Whistfylle chuckles.

Ceyrin calmly says, "I was married once."

Whistfylle says, "Consumption of self? Surely not.."

You squint.

Ceyrin calmly says, "I suppose I have asked a difficult question. I withdraw it."

Andriatta leans back.

Whistfylle says, "My words were of recovering from the pain, and healing oneself with my Lord's assistance."

Speaking to Ranad, Kessek says, "Exactly. Laethe's goal is the opposite."

Kessek chuckles.

Speaking to Kessek, Ranad asks, "And do you pay homage to Laethe as well?"

Ranad cocks his head at Kessek.

Ceyrin calmly says, "Yes, of mourning. Which is an emotion.."

Kessek looks over at Ranad and shakes his head.

Drizzient ponders.

Tarkisis says, "The concept of emotions are something I have always construed as illogical, myself. To understand Laethe, I suppose you would have to determine what love is to you.."

Speaking calmly to Whistfylle, Ceyrin says, "Do not worry over it, I withdraw my question."

Tarkisis shrugs at Ceyrin.

Kessek says, "Though it doesnt apply to me, i'm here to learn nonetheless."

Whistfylle says, "I suppose I do not understand what you are asking. If I were to be -consumed- then I would not be standing here, I would be curled up in a ball somewhere, weeping."

Whistfylle stares off into space.

Whistfylle runs a hand through her wild moon silver hair, trying to make herself presentable.

Tarkisis raises an eyebrow in Whistfylle's direction.

Ranad ponders.

Drizzient blinks.

Whistfylle says, "In theory."

Andriatta says, "Love isn't singular.  It encompasses most things in life in one way or another."

Whistfylle casts Tarkisis a stern warning glance.

Zadya nods to Whistfylle.

Ranad takes a moment to observe Tarkisis.

Tarkisis glances at Whistfylle.

Speaking calmly to Andriatta, Ceyrin says, "It is as complicated as each individual who feels it."

Tarkisis says, "Scarred, but not yet broken."

Tarkisis nods to Whistfylle.

Whistfylle says, "It is not neccessarily a Lover... that I apply this to.. Ahhh.."

Andriatta nods.

Whistfylle says, "Think of it this way..."

Andriatta says, "That it is."

Ceyrin looks thoughtfully at Whistfylle.

Whistfylle says, "Love has many forms.. Love for a parent, a child.. a pet.."

Andriatta nods to Whistfylle.

Whistfylle says, "A close friend.."

Ranad sighs softly.

Tallula gazes at Whistfylle.

Whistfylle says, "And there are many forms of loss.. Seperation in death, in parting.."

Whistfylle says, "We are not only speaking of lovers.."

Drizzient says, "Sounds like suffering to me."

Drizzient works his fingers under his glaes helm and scratches his head.

Tarkisis looks over at Drizzient and shakes her head.

Whistfylle furrows her brow.

Tarkisis says, "As she said, it is Mularos that encourages the suffering.."

Kessek agrees with Tarkisis.

Whistfylle says, "Yes, I had thought I covered that."

Debia leans on Ranad, giving him a companionable grin.

Drizzient says, "I encourage it also ."

Tarkisis says, "Laethe heals the wounds, but does not let you forget."

Tarkisis glances at Whistfylle.

Ceyrin calmly asks, "That is all good and well, but it has nothing to do with my initial question. I suppose I'll rephrase it so that I might be better understood. You spoke of the emotion of mourning and how it is or can be an important process of healing which is in turn important to Laethe. My question is thus, why is allowing yourself this emotion important in the first place? Can you not find a different way to accept your feelings over the situation, and still honor Laethe?"

Whistfylle stares off into space.

Tarkisis says, "Stop me if I've misunderstood."

Whistfylle nods to Tarkisis.

Ceyrin calmly asks, "Is that more clearly stated?"

Ceyrin seems puzzled.

Whistfylle asks, "What would you suggest?"

Speaking to Ceyrin, Ranad asks, "You claimed to have been married, goodsir...may I ask a potentially prying question?"

Whistfylle peers quizzically at Ceyrin.

Ranad smiles at Ceyrin.

Speaking calmly to Ranad, Ceyrin says, "Certainly, though I reserve the right to refuse an answer."

Ranad nods.

Speaking to Ceyrin, Ranad asks, "When you say you 'had' been married, I assume you are no longer. Did you not grieve when your wife was no longer a part of your life?"

Ceyrin calmly says, "No, I did not."

Speaking to Ceyrin, Ranad asks, "May I ask the circumstances of your seperation?"

Ceyrin calmly says, "She was Mularosian."

Whistfylle chuckles to herself.

Ranad folds his hands behind his back.

Whistfylle glances at Ceyrin and folds her arms across her chest.

You cough.

Ceyrin calmly asks, "Need I elaborate?"

Ranad nods.

Ranad says, "Please, do."

You say, "Know the problems there myself."

Ceyrin calmly says, "Very well."

Ranad turns an inquisitive ear towards Ceyrin.

Drizzient shifts his weight.

(Ceyrin scratches his brow in frustration for a moment before continuing, "She saught nothing but the ruination of my heart and soul. She warped my mind and tortured my flesh. She used and abused me in every possible way in order to honor her Lord.")

Ranad folds his hands behind his back.

Ranad nods.

Whistfylle shifts her weight.

Ranad asks, "And yet you loved her?"

Ceyrin calmly says, "I did."

Ceyrin calmly says, "For a time."

Ranad says, "Now when that love was lost..."

(Whistfylle looks distinctly unfortable for a moment, her eyes lighting on Ceyrin before shifting away.)

Ranad asks, "Did you not feel that emptiness in your heart, where she had once been?"

Ranad cocks his head at Ceyrin.

Ceyrin calmly says, "No."

Ranad frowns.

Chills rubs his chin thoughtfully.

Ceyrin seems slightly different.

Speaking to Ranad, Debia says, "By the time she left, there was likely too much damage done."

Whistfylle asks, "Laethe is the Arkati of Lost Love. You ask me a question which is rather unrelated to what I spoke of. How would one honor Laethe without honoring his sphere, Lost Love...?"

Ranad says, "Then I would have to say....perhaps wrongly, that you did not love her. It is possible to love someone who is cruel at times, it is possible to love those who would hurt you. The line between love and hate is not only fine, it is often blurry."

Whistfylle peers over the rim of her spectacles.

Speaking calmly to Debia, Ceyrin says, "Before I slayed her for the murder of our unborn child."

Ranad says, "But it is impossible to not miss one you have loved."

Speaking to Ceyrin, Debia says, "I think they are approaching this the wrong way."

Speaking to Ceyrin, Debia says, "Surely you and your exwife had happy times.  Else you would not have wed."

Whistfylle gets a blank look on her face.

Debia raises an eyebrow in Ceyrin's direction.

Speaking to Debia, Ranad says, "Had that damage been done, I would say that the love was lost before it's effects were completed."

Whistfylle sniffs at her black rose.

Ceyrin calmly says, "This story is irrelivent."

Ranad nods.

Ceyrin calmly says, "It has nothing to do with my initial question."

Whistfylle twists her head slightly, cracking her neck.  She looks relieved.

Ranad says, "The story itself is irrelevant."

Kessek rests his hands on his knees and breathes deep to relax.

Ranad asks, "Will you hear my point?"

Ranad cocks his head at Ceyrin.

Speaking to Ceyrin, Whistfylle says, "As your question was irrelevant to the points mentioned in my lecture."

Ceyrin calmly says, "It was not intended to enlighten me personally on a matter which is in my past."

Whistfylle chortles softly at some secret joke.

Ceyrin frowns at Whistfylle.

Ranad shakes his head.

Ceyrin calmly says, "I did not believe so."

Ranad says, "I did not think that it would be."

Whistfylle clears her throat.

Ranad smiles at Ceyrin.

Ceyrin calmly says, "I am listening."

Ranad nods.

Ranad says, "To love someone, you give a part of yourself to them.."

Ceyrin calmly says, "Which I had."

Speaking to Ceyrin, Ranad says, "In your case, marriage..you commit your bachelor status. I simply use that as a tangible example."

Ranad shrugs.

Ceyrin calmly says, "Infact, I would say she still claims it to this day in a sense. Which is far greater a statement that I normaly care to make. I will however for the sake of presumtpion being supressed."

Ranad says, "There is much more you give as well, which is personal and different for us all."

Ranad nods to Ceyrin.

Ranad says, "Exactly."

Whistfylle asks, "How would I honor him, without emotion? He whose chosen realm of influence.. is that of the capricious heart..?"

Whistfylle asks, "Why would I want to?"

Whistfylle asks, "What relevence would it have to him?"

Ranad says, "She still holds a part of you. Hostage, perhaps, but it is with her regardless. To take all of yourself back, may be impossible. To love her once, is to love her always, on some level."

Ranad says, "I believe that Laethe teaches us to cope with that loss."

Kessek says, "He may have taken it all back when he dealt the killing blow, though."

Whistfylle idly scratches herself on the neck.

Kessek says, "It's not unusual to renounce love."

Speaking to Kessek, Ranad says, "I don't see how it would be possible."

Ranad takes a moment to observe Ceyrin.

Ranad says, "You can renounce it.."

Ranad nods to Kessek.

Speaking to Ranad, Kessek says, "People do love differently, it all depends on the individual."

Ranad says, "Just as I could renounce Kai, or my home."

Zadya ponders.

Ranad says, "But to do so would take a part of me away."

Ceyrin calmly says, "You can replace it."

Ranad says, "And that is what Laethe teaches us to live with."

Ranad nods to Ceyrin.

Ceyrin calmly says, "With something different."

Ranad says, "Ay, you can."

Ceyrin calmly says, "It does not have to be the same."

Ranad nods to Ceyrin.

Ranad says, "You are correct."

Ranad says, "Absolutely."

Ranad says, "But if you imagine the original pain to be a wound..."

Debia says, "In some cases, can never be the same."

Whistfylle says, "But if I replaced it, then I would not be who I am."

Ceyrin calmly says, "I suppose that is my point. That this process of emotional mourning over loves lost or of anything at all lost for that matter is rather pointless in a sense."

Debia looks very far away for a moment, a wistful expression on her face.

Whistfylle says, "I would not be here. Speaking of Laethe."

Ceyrin calmly says, "You will always be yourself, your self is constantly evolving."

Whistfylle chuckles to herself.

Ceyrin calmly says, "When you stop evolving, and learning. You are dead, even if your body subsists."

Speaking to Ceyrin, Ranad says, "I don't believe that mourning is the crux of the process..."

Speaking calmly to Ranad, Ceyrin says, "Any emotion."

Speaking to Whistfylle, Ranad says, "My Lady, I must politely disagree with you there."

Ceyrin calmly says, "Mourning is just an example."

Whistfylle says, "Disagree all you will."

You rub your chin thoughtfully.

Speaking to Ceyrin, Ranad says, "To not feel anything...to lack emotion completely, means that you are effectively dead."

Kessek says, "This has gotten very interesting..."

Kessek grins.

Debia agrees with Kessek.

Whistfylle chuckles.

Tarkisis says, "There is always the unemotional stance.. to which you seem.. inclined to follow."

Tarkisis nods to Ceyrin.

Speaking to Ceyrin, Ranad says, "If you find, some day, when you wake up...and feel..."

Kessek says, "I've always been facinated with the Arkati, though I do admit i've never meditated on Laethe as much as I am now."

Ranad says, "If you feel nothing."

Ranad says, "Then you may walk, breathe, exist...but you do not live."

Ranad says, "And perhaps..."

Speaking calmly to Tarkisis, Ceyrin says, "Emotions are, a weakness."

Whistfylle smirks.

Debia leans on Ranad, giving him a companionable grin.

Tarkisis says, "That is perhaps a reason someone turns to Onar.. or Huntress or somesuch.. to fill the emptiness with purpose."

Speaking to Ceyrin, Ranad says, "Emotions are the lifeblood of all who live."

Speaking calmly to Tarkisis, Ceyrin says, "That is not to say I am not in touch with my emotions."

Tarkisis nods to Ceyrin.

Ceyrin calmly says, "I am consistently and constantly aware of them."

Speaking to Tarkisis, Whistfylle says, "Or Fash'lo'nae."

Whistfylle smiles at Tarkisis.

Tarkisis glares at Whistfylle.

Speaking softly to Tarkisis, Whistfylle says, "Grandaughter."

Speaking to Ceyrin, Ranad says, "You are looking for the logical progression of things, as Lady Whistfylle tried to show you."

Ceyrin calmly says, "They do not effect me now however, they are like another thought process."

Whistfylle smiles at Tarkisis.

Tarkisis says, "Yes.. or Fash'lo'nae."

Tarkisis glances at Whistfylle.

You chuckle.

Whistfylle flashes a wide grin.

Speaking to Ceyrin, Ranad says, "You are looking for the LOGIC behind why someone mourns when they lose a life."

Ranad says, "Or love."

Debia hisses at Tarkisis.

Ranad says, "Or a wife."

Debia gets a blank look on her face.

Ranad says, "Or a son, daughter, neighbor, friend...pet."

Tarkisis says, "Laethe is simply.. one.. of many paths to follow."

Tarkisis nods to Ceyrin.

Whistfylle nods to Ranad.

Kessek nods.

Ranad says, "There is no logic."

Ceyrin calmly asks, "I am looking for the logic behind why it is important at all. When there are clearly other ways to do this. And my ultimate question remains. Can you still honor Laethe by doing so without resorting to emotion?"

Whistfylle sniffs at her black rose.

Speaking to Ceyrin, Ranad says, "It is only as important as you allow it to be."

Tarkisis says, "There is no logic with Laethe.."

Tarkisis says, "Love is not logical."

Speaking calmly to Tarkisis, Ceyrin says, "Oh but it can be."

Speaking to Ceyrin, Whistfylle says, "You ignored my questions. And my answer would be no."

Kessek says, "Emotion and Logic are like Liabo and Lornon; just too different to really be associated."

Speaking quietly to Ceyrin, Tarkisis says, "Only when used to manipulate."

Speaking to Ceyrin, Whistfylle says, "That is not love, that is... breeding, or companionship."

Whistfylle smirks at Ceyrin.

Speaking to Ceyrin, Ranad says, "It can be follow a seemingly logical path, but love itself is not logical."

Ceyrin shakes his head.

Ceyrin calmly says, "You're reading too deeply into my statements."

Ranad looks thoughtfully at Ceyrin.

Debia asks, "Give an example?"

Ranad says, "Alright."

Ceyrin appears less confident.

Ranad says, "At face value-"

Speaking to Ceyrin, Whistfylle says, "Then speak more plainly, darling."

Ranad says, "Your statement is this."

Ranad says, "You believe that Laethe is unnecessary."

Ceyrin calmly says, "No."

Ranad frowns.

Ranad gazes heavenward.

Ranad grins.

Ranad says, "Alright."

Whistfylle chuckles to herself.

Mallac rubs his chin thoughtfully.

Ranad says, "You believe that mourning is unnecessary."

Ceyrin calmly says, "I was simply asking if you can honor Laethe without resorting to emotion."

Tarkisis says, "I do not think that is possible.."

Ranad says, "Laethe's only access to our plane is through emotion."

Kessek shakes his head.

Kessek says, "Nor do I."

Ceyrin calmly says, "Consider it like this. What if there were a logical reason behind this loss of love. What if there were no other choice. So you simply accept it and move onward."

Tarkisis says, "Love is the epitomy of what Laethe represents."

Ceyrin calmly says, "You still think about it from time to time."

Zadya asks, "Can you worship anything without investing some emotion?"

Ceyrin calmly says, "But you do not become emotional over it."

Speaking to Ceyrin, Ranad says, "Exactly."

Kessek nods to Zadya.

Speaking to Ceyrin, Ranad says, "You say that 'You can accept it and move onward'."

Kessek says, "Fash'lo'nae I assume does not require it."

Whistfylle stares off into space.

Whistfylle smirks.

Speaking to Ceyrin, Ranad says, "Laethe..."

Whistfylle hums a seemingly random tune.

Ranad says, "And his followers."

Speaking to Kessek, Zadya says, "I know nothing of that."

Ranad nods to Whistfylle.

Speaking to Kessek, Debia says, "The desire to learn is still a desire."

Kessek scratches his chin.

Speaking to Debia, Kessek says, "Good point."

Kessek grins.

Tarkisis says, "They accept, move onward.. with no regret.. but they still hold a passion for what they once had."

Tarkisis nods to Ceyrin.

Debia says, "Sometimes."

Ranad nods to Ceyrin.

Debia nods to Tarkisis.

Ranad says, "Laethe is a guide, a helping hand to those who cannot move onward on their own."

Speaking to Ceyrin, Ranad says, "You do him homage not in the grieving, but in the living that comes afterwards."

Ceyrin calmly says, "Very well."

Speaking to Ceyrin, Debia says, "And in your case, not necessarily what you had when things went awry, but perhaps what you had lost before they did."

Ceyrin calmly says, "That is not an emotion."

Whistfylle nods to Ranad.

Ranad nods to Ceyrin.

Ranad says, "You are right."

Whistfylle says, "Exactly."

Speaking to Ceyrin, Ranad says, "But as I already said..."

Speaking to Ceyrin, Ranad says, "You cannot live without emotion."

Ceyrin calmly says, "So then, the answer to my question would be.."

Ceyrin calmly says, "Yes you can still honor Laethe without resorting to emotions."

Speaking to Ceyrin, Ranad says, "When love is lost, move onward. Do not regret loving, instead, remember the one you loved."

Whistfylle asks, "Then if that was the answer you were seeking, and apparently the only answer you would accept, then why ask?"

Ranad says, "In that, you will pay homage to Laethe."

Whistfylle stares at Ceyrin.

Whistfylle stares off into space.

Ceyrin calmly says, "It wasn't the only one I would accept."

Ceyrin chuckles.

Whistfylle says, "Uhhuh."

Ceyrin calmly says, "I would have accepted any."

Whistfylle grunts.

Ceyrin calmly says, "It just seemed to be my question was not clearly stated, several times."

Zadya grins.

Ranad shrugs.

Whistfylle says, "Mm. Apparently."

Ceyrin calmly says, "For that I apologize."

Ranad says, "Such is the way of debate."

Ranad smiles at Ceyrin.

Ceyrin calmly says, "It was never meant to be debate."

Ranad grins.

Speaking to Ceyrin, Kessek says, "Not necessarily, it's just a very deep question."

Kessek grins at Ceyrin.

Ranad says, "Ahh, more fun this way."

You chuckle.

Ceyrin stares at Whistfylle.

Tarkisis says, "Process of understanding something foreign.."

Tarkisis shrugs.

Whistfylle stares at Ceyrin.

Ceyrin glances at Whistfylle and folds his arms across his chest.

Tarkisis leans leisurely on her black lacquered runestaff, a thoughtful expression upon her face.

Ranad moves to stand in front of Whistfylle.

Ranad says, "Now now.."

Ranad grins.

Speaking to Tarkisis, Kessek says, "Without doing that, we would just resort to primitive behavior."

Ranad asks, "Let's be nice, eh?"

Ceyrin calmly says, "Indeed."

Tarkisis smiles at Kessek.

Ranad nods.

Whistfylle says, "We are always nice."

Ranad takes a few steps back.

Ranad chuckles.

Kessek chuckles.

Ceyrin calmly says, "I do apologize for the disruptive nature of my question."

Whistfylle twists her head slightly, cracking her neck.  She looks relieved.

Andriatta grins.

Ranad says, "There is a difference between being polite, and being nice."

Whistfylle glances at Ceyrin.

Ranad grins at Ceyrin.

Speaking to Ceyrin, Ranad says, "The question was well-posed."

Ceyrin calmly says, "I think I shall go, to prevent further disruptions."

Ceyrin stands up.

Whistfylle groans.

Speaking quietly to Kessek, Tarkisis says, "Such is the behavior of emotion.. primitive.. instinctual.."

Speaking to Ceyrin, Ranad asks, "And what were you distrupting? The silence that echoes through these halls?"

Ranad grins at Ceyrin.

Speaking calmly to Whistfylle, Ceyrin says, "It was an enjoyable and informative speech."

Kessek grins at Tarkisis.

Ranad says, "It's about time."

Whistfylle gently rests her hand on Ceyrin's shoulder.

Speaking to Ceyrin, Ranad says, "Sit down, friend. Relax."

Speaking to Tarkisis, Kessek says, "I'm sure for some, it would be easier it just stand up and slaughter everyone, rather than trying to understand."

Ceyrin peers quizzically at Whistfylle.

Whistfylle cocks her head at Ceyrin.

Tarkisis smirks.

You say, "Opinions vary on things."

Zadya grins at Kessek.

Debia coughs.

Whistfylle runs a hand through her wild moon silver hair, trying to make herself presentable.

Kessek says, "Which is why I value these lectures very much."

Kessek grins.

You grin at Kessek.

Speaking to Kessek, Debia says, "Leave me out of this."

Kessek begins chuckling at Debia!

Ranad snickers at Debia.

Kessek rubs his eyes.

Ceyrin scratches his head.

Kessek runs a hand through his short dark brown hair, trying to make himself presentable.

Ceyrin sits down.

Ceyrin folds his arms over his chest.

Ranad folds his hands behind his back.

Whistfylle nods to Ceyrin.

Ranad grins at Ceyrin.

You ask, "Are there more questions for Whistfylle tonight?"

Ceyrin calmly says, "So then, did anyone else have any questions? I am quite finished dominating the floor."

Whistfylle grins wryly.

Kessek grins at Ceyrin.

Ceyrin grins at you.

You chuckle at Ceyrin.

Kessek stands up.

Ranad nods.

Kessek says, "I apologize, but I have to leaving."

Ceyrin waves to Kessek.

Speaking to Whistfylle, Kessek says, "Great job by the way."

Ceyrin calmly says, "Good evening."

Kessek winks at Whistfylle.

Whistfylle says, "Thank you for your attendance."

Andriatta raises her hand.

Ranad says, "Let us consider for a moment..."

Whistfylle says, "Thank you all."

Kessek bows respectfully, his eyes fixed firmly on the ground.

Whistfylle grins.

Kessek says, "See ya folks around."

Kessek just went southwest.

Whistfylle turns to face Andriatta.

Whistfylle turns an inquisitive ear towards Andriatta.

Andriatta asks, "I was just wondering if it is known where the practices of leaving the notes for Laethe started?"

Andriatta asks, "And if there is any lore to the practice?"

Andriatta cocks her head at Whistfylle.

Whistfylle says, "It is not a note for Laethe, persay, but a note for a loved one who is far away, unable to be reached.. or who has passed on."

Whistfylle says, "Laethe only carries the note to the one it is intended for."

Andriatta asks, "Is it expected that Laethe intervenes to see is received?"

Ranad nods.

Andriatta nods.

Whistfylle nods to Andriatta.

Andriatta says, "Ah, I wasn't clear on that."

Andriatta blushes a delicate shade of pale pink.

Zadya bites her lip.

Andriatta asks, "Is it known where it started?  What culture?"

Andriatta cocks her head at Whistfylle.

Whistfylle says, "I've no idea where they started.. But.. often the.. spoken word holds less..mm.. permanence.. less.. ."

Ceyrin's eyes take on a glassy look as he appears to fall into a vivid daydream.

Whistfylle looks lost in thought.

Ranad says, "Emotion."

Andriatta nods to Whistfylle.

Ranad says, "To write something down, means the emotion stays with it."

Whistfylle nods to Ranad.

Ranad says, "You can look at it again, years later, and feel the same things."

Andriatta ponders.

Whistfylle says, "I assume that someone simply left there letters... and others followed suit."

Whistfylle chuckles.

Whistfylle says, "As any tradition is started."

Andriatta grins.

Zadya smiles at Whistfylle.

Whistfylle asks, "Anyone else?"

Nutmegg grins.

Ranad ponders.

Mallac shakes his head.

You grin at Mallac.

Whistfylle says, "Well, then I shall return attention to the lovely Lady Iscikella."

You smile at Whistfylle.

Whistfylle says, "And thank you all for listening."

You stand back up.

Whistfylle bows.

Debia stands up.

Debia leans on Ranad, giving him a companionable grin.
