PANARKATI FESTIVAL[Hall of the King]
The wide staircase comes to an end at an enormous round room. A flat walkway extends from the stairs to a
pure white altar in the center of the room, while elsewhere the floor has been
carved to resemble the surface of the planet, complete with oceans and forests
and high mountain ranges. The thin ice
of the cavernous domed ceiling not only permits starlight and moonlight to
bathe the room, but opens up a breathtaking view of the heavens above. You also see a colossal statue.
Obvious exits: down
Nuadjha, Archales, Smarf, Matti, Idallia, Mourdeyan, Keemac, Noonee, Lanitha,
Godefroy, Ichiko, Aydan and Lenerius followed.
Stillson just arrived.
You say, "And here we are."
Matti softly says, "Ohh."
Godefroy bows to a colossal statue.
Nuadjha smiles.
Nuadjha touches one hand to the ground and chants a
respectful bird-like trill.
Nuadjha's fingernails flash briefly with a tinge of green
coloring.
You say, "Please all take a seat."
(Lanitha slips behind Godefroy and bows to the statue.)
Nuadjha sits down.
Matti gazes heavenward.
Keemac sits down.
Noonee sits down.
Matti sits down.
Smarf sits down.
Ichiko sits down.
Nuadjha takes a drink from his herbal honey tea.
Stillson sits down.
Aydan sits down.
Lanitha sits down.
You say, "Our speaker for this evening is
Lenerius."
Speaking quietly to a colossal statue, Godefroy says,
"Good evening, Holy King. We keep
the faith."
Mourdeyan sits down.
Idallia sits down.
You say, "He is going to talk to us all on Koar."
Godefroy sits down near Lanitha.
Lanitha smiles at Godefroy.
You say, "Please be kind enough to give him yer full
attention."
You say, "And hold all questions and comments until he
had opened the floor to them."
(Iscikella moves to
the back of the room.)
You nod to Lenerius.
You sit down.
Lenerius smiles.
Lenerius says, "I should begin by thanking everyone for
coming tonight, and sticking through to this, the last discussion panel of the
festival."
You smile at Lenerius.
Lenerius says, "I would also be remiss if I didn't
comment on the appearance of our surroundings. I always liked this room."
Matti smiles.
Ichiko smiles at Lenerius.
Smarf gazes in wonder at his surroundings.
You stand back up.
[At this point Iscikella had to
leave to usher in a latecomer and thus a few moments are missing from the log.]
Justlamann sits down.
Lenerius says, "I am actually not going to spend much
time speaking myself, but will leave the majority of my time for discussion and
questions, as what I say is likely to be very different from much of what you
have already heard."
You nod to Justlamann.
You sit down.
(Lenerius folds his gauntleted hands behind his back.)
Lenerius says, "A bit of background, first
."
Lenerius says, "Most of you already know that Koar is
the titular king of the Arkati, and rallied all of them to his side during the
time of the Ur-Daemons."
Lenerius says, "Some even consider him the last drake,
and for proof, point to the fact that, according to legend, when the Arkati
were banished to the moons, Koar remained on Elanthia."
Lenerius shakes his head.
Lenerius says, "However, let's move along, as no one on
Elanthia today can really confirm or deny the fact with absolute certainty, and
there is more about which we are certain."
Lenerius says, "Koar's spheres of influence are
Justice, Loyalty, and Law, so many coronation ceremonies involve invoking
Koar's blessing, and many rulers claim their right to reign bears Koar's
approval."
Lenerius says, "That is the brief synopsis of who Koar
is, and it sets the stage for the remainder of the discussion."
(Lenerius pauses momentarily.)
Mourdeyan ponders.
Lenerius tactfully says, "I suppose I should inform you
that I am not going to speak of worshipping Koar, as I feel that, if you were
to worship Koar, you would be missing the point."
Lenerius glances at a pure white altar.
Lenerius says, "It is likely my traditional elven
upbringing that has granted me my current perspective."
Lenerius says, "Many of you may have noticed that Koar
tends to rarely take an active role in the state of affairs of Elanthia."
Lenerius says, "In general, the majority of the Liabo
Arkati do likewise, at least compared to the Lornan
Arkati, entrusting in the people of Elanthia to handle their own lives."
Lenerius says, "In essence, Koar does not wish for us
to dedicate our lives to a single Arkati, and see him as the answer to all. One
of them cannot be everything to us, and trying to view an Arkati as such is the
cause of the majority of our problems."
Mourdeyan whispers, "Rather like the nobility."
Lenerius clearly asks, "Think of it this way; if one
were to devote his life entirely to what is represented by Mularos, that life
would revolve around pain and suffering. Can that truly be a pleasant
life?"
You quietly whisper to Mourdeyan, "Aye, rather
like."
You nod to Mourdeyan.
Mourdeyan smiles.
Mourdeyan raises her eyebrow, the blue diamond ring set
within only enhancing her skeptical expression.
Lenerius says, "So that I am not accused of picking on
the Lornanites, let us take a classic follower of Lorminstra, for example. He
is someone virtuous, believing in being kind to others, and eliminating
suffering from the world."
Aydan whispers, "Granted, humans have their own brand
of politics... but obviously that sort of mindset isn't helping them much in
the end either."
Lenerius says, "Let us imagine that he has a friend who
is not very bright, who has recently been publicly ridiculed for his
intelligence. This friend, desperate for comfort, comes to the follower of
Lorminstra, asking if he really thinks his mental capacity is
substandard."
Noonee leans forward and rests her chin in her hand, a
thoughtful expression on her face.
Lenerius says, "Perhaps, in a case like this, the
follower of Lorminstra should do that which is represented by Luukos, and
lie."
Mourdeyan frowns.
Lenerius says, "After all, would anything really be
accomplished by telling him he truly is an idiot? It is not exactly something
the friend can do much to correct."
Lenerius shrugs.
Lenerius says, "Now, most of you are probably going to
say that is an extenuating set of circumstances, and it would not always turn
out that way."
Lenerius nods.
Lenerius says, "You are absolutely right in thinking
that way, but life is full of its little exceptions and deviations. We simply
cannot function appropriately in society if we do not have a means to address
them, and this brings us back to one of my main points: no Arkati can be a
single source of spiritual guidance."
Lenerius says, "This is why Koar will never allow the
Arkati to engage in open war. All of them are necessary representations of the
various aspects of life, rather than each being an end in and of himself."
Noonee rubs her chin thoughtfully.
Lenerius says, "We are fortunate in the east, as we
have learned the Arkati are not to be treated as gods. This has made acceptance
of the philosophy of Koar I have described here not only easy, but also
palatable, as it meshes well with fact."
Lenerius says, "With that, my brief introduction is
finished, and I trust there are several of you with questions and comments, so
please just raise your hands and I would be glad to discuss this further."
Mourdeyan raises her hand.
Lenerius nods to Mourdeyan.
Godefroy takes a deep breath.
Lanitha rests a gentle hand on Godefroy's arm.
Godefroy raises his hand.
Mourdeyan quietly says, "In the matter of the friend of
the ...less than standard intelligent fellow."
Nuadjha leans softly against Mourdeyan.
Lenerius asks, "Yes?"
Smarf leans forward.
Mourdeyan quietly says, "I think it's possible to keep
your path and treat honorablly with your friend as well."
Aydan nods to Mourdeyan.
Lenerius says, "Possible and preferable are always two
different things."
Godefroy agrees with Mourdeyan.
Noonee ponders.
Mourdeyan quietly says, "You could always tell truth in
that intelligence is not a consideration of friendship...but that goodness of
heart...spirit...and such are."
Archales sits down.
You nod to Mourdeyan.
Lenerius says, "That wouldn't really address your
friend's concern, though."
Stillson says, "More skirting the question than
answering it."
Mourdeyan quietly says, "Preferable to myself, would be the choice to keep my honor and not lie,
nor harm the fellow."
Godefroy nods to Mourdeyan.
Smarf nods to Mourdeyan.
Lenerius says, "If you can find a way to do that, I'd
say to go for it."
Mourdeyan quietly says, "I'll not judge another's
ignorance, what measure would I use."
Mourdeyan grins impishly.
Mourdeyan blushes a nice shade of pink.
Nuadjha quietly says, "You have not actually answered
the question, however, and so have been somewhat dishonest, since you did so
knowingly."
Idallia grins at Mourdeyan.
Lenerius asks, "You had a question?"
Aydan says, "There is always a way to maintain both
your integrity and maintain your friendship with the person. If anything, the
effort to find such a way, even if you cannot find it outright, shows the
concern you have."
Lenerius nods to Godefroy.
Mourdeyan quietly says, "Aye, I have been somewhat
Luukos advocate in the interest of discussion my friend."
Mourdeyan smiles at Nuadjha.
Nuadjha winks at Mourdeyan.
Godefroy says, "Not being totally forthcoming is rather
different from lying. We call it 'tact'
or 'diplomacy'."
Godefroy shrugs.
Matti nods.
Mourdeyan nods.
Godefroy says, "That aside, I'm curious at the somewhat
limited scope you seem to have of the worship of the Holy King."
Godefroy says, "By worshipping the King, you show
respect for all His vassals."
Lenerius says, "Well, I don't have any scope of the
worship of Koar."
Lenerius says, "I don't think we should be worshipping
any Arkati, if we follow his ways, but showing respect for all."
Mourdeyan cocks her head.
Godefroy says, "I myself am beholden to Him, but as
such I feel close ties to all that share His rein."
Speaking to Lenerius, Godefroy asks, "Because they
'aren't Gods'?"
Lanitha tilts her head down.
Lenerius says, "Partly, yes."
Godefroy asks, "By what measure would you use?"
Lenerius asks, "Measure of worship or measure of
godhood?"
Mourdeyan turns an inquisitive ear towards Lenerius.
Noonee rubs her chin thoughtfully.
Godefroy asks, "A being that can shake the world, split
it asunder, restore the dead, and smite you out of your boots as swatting a
gnat? If that is not a God, I'd say they
can surely do a fair impersonation, no?"
Lanitha smiles at Godefroy.
Lenerius says, "They still die."
Nuadjha quietly says, "You may be applying differing
definitions of godhood."
Godefroy asks, "Gods have died. Yes, I've heard the Elven prattle. So what?"
Nuadjha quietly says, "In which case, you'll never
agree."
Ichiko glances at Godefroy.
Smarf frowns.
Speaking to Ichiko, Godefroy says, "He insulted
us. I thought it fair to return the
favor."
Ichiko shrugs.
Godefroy says, "It won't happen again if *he* can be
considerate. Tactful."
Nuadjha quietly says, "Peace. Trading insults back and
forth advances nothing."
Keemac sighs.
Ichiko says, "Arkati bleed. They can be killed. And
sometimes they even weep."
Godefroy glances at a colossal statue.
Godefroy firmly says, "Respectful."
Lenerius says, "I don't think it is productive in the
least to argue what a god is."
You say, "Aye, let's keep all discussion civil
please. There seems
many ideas to share here."
Ichiko says, "But they still are deserving of
respect."
Matti smiles at you.
Godefroy asks, "Yet you come here, before a staute of
the Holy King, and tell us that we are fools?"
Lenerius says, "If you don't like my opinions, you
don't have to be here to hear them."
Archales frowns.
Mourdeyan quietly says, "I heard no such."
You exclaim, "Gentlemen, peace!"
You say, "Let us have a free exchange of ideas."
You ask, "Isn't that what we are here for?"
Archales softly says, "A civil free exchange."
Mourdeyan agrees with you.
Godefroy says, "Oh, I think we're doing just
that."
You nod to Archales.
Aydan says, "If He thinks we are wrong to view Him as
we do, and He cares so much that we do not hold such beliefs, He certainly does
little to dissuade that."
Nuadjha quietly says, "Actually, if we wish to resolve
the issue of whether Arkati are worthy of worship, then we need to define
godhood. Godefroy argues that they are powerful, and thus gods,
and you argue that they are beneath gods. Clearly, you operate from different
definitions. By Godefroy's logic, power is worthy of worship, by yours, it is
not."
Archales agrees with Nuadjha.
You say, "Perhaps that is a good starting point,
aye."
You nod to Nuadjha.
Archales softly says, "Well spoken."
Godefroy asks, "I ask, if the Lord Koar is not a God...
what is?"
Lenerius says, "I don't see that issue as being
resolved by us, in one night."
Nuadjha chuckles.
Archales agrees with Lenerius.
Matti nods to Smarf.
Nuadjha quietly says, "No philosophical questions are
resolved in a night."
Speaking to Nuadjha, Godefroy says, "Actually, I feel
the Lord Koar is worthy of worship even as just an idea - or rather, the
embodiment of one. That's enough for
me."
Nuadjha smiles.
Lenerius says, "I'm sure wiser have attempted for much
longer."
You say, "But opinions can be shared."
Aydan says, "If Koar truly is the last of the Drakes,
and the Drakes were said to be much greater in power than the Arkati... if
anything else, if the Arkati do not deserve the title of godhood, at least He
would."
Speaking quietly to Godefroy, Nuadjha asks, "Because
it's a powerful or worthy ideal?"
You nod to Aydan.
Speaking to Aydan, you say, "I tend to agree
there."
Nuadjha quietly says, "Ah, but it is commonly agreed
that the Drakes are not gods, and thus Koar could not be one, even if a
Drake,"
Speaking to Nuadjha, Godefroy says, "Worthy. There is no higher purpose than justice and
nobility, Light and truth. Lord Koar is
a living symbol of those ideals. For
that, if for no other, he has my allegience."
Lenerius says, "Notice, if you will, all of you are
thinking along different roads, just about Koar..."
Mourdeyan agrees with Lenerius.
Aydan says, "But from our perspective, that would certainly
be enough. Godhood doesn't have to require complete omnipotence and
infallibility."
Lenerius says, "Imagine if this discussion were about
all the Arkati."
Mourdeyan quietly says, "People go to war over
less."
Mourdeyan sighs.
Idallia nods.
Archales nods.
Noonee bites her lip.
Aydan says, "I tend to agree with what Godefroy just
mentioned, about the worship of the ideal."
Speaking quietly to Godefroy, Nuadjha says, "Here, you
add to your definition of a god, I think. A god, in this case, is something
that is worthy of worship, aye? So an ideal could be a god."
Noonee says, "Ideals are what raise us."
Ichiko asks, "If I may speak?"
Noonee nods.
Aydan says, "Worship does not necessitate the kissing
of feet."
Speaking to Lenerius, Godefroy says, "You brought the
matter up by denying His godhood at a panel in His name, friend."
Noonee says, "Above the creatures of the wilds."
Mourdeyan turns to face Ichiko.
Aydan says, "It is the dedication to something
greater."
Lenerius says, "Yes, I did."
Justlamann rubs his chin thoughtfully.
You listen carefully to Ichiko.
Ichiko nods to Aydan.
Mourdeyan quietly says, "I would hear Ichiko."
Lenerius says, "I think she should speak, as
well."
Godefroy turns an inquisitive ear towards Ichiko.
Ichiko says, "Aydan has just made my point..it matters less who or what the Arkati are, then why we
dedicate ourselves to them."
Nuadjha smiles.
Nuadjha quietly exclaims, "Ah!"
Mourdeyan quietly says, "Here here."
Stillson stands up.
Stillson just went down.
Nuadjha quietly asks, "So what really counts is how we
view the Arkati, and what effect that viewing has on
the viewer?"
Nuadjha cocks his head at Ichiko.
Ichiko nods to Nuadjha.
Nuadjha quietly asks, "Would it matter, then, if the
Arkati were figments of our imagination?"
Ichiko asks, "We all have a reason for our faith,
no?"
Nuadjha smiles mischeviously.
Aydan says, "Even if Lady Lumnis is not a true goddess
in the scheme of all things ever created, I would still follow Her as I would a leader in whom I entrusted my life
completely."
You nod to Ichiko.
Mourdeyan nods to Ichiko.
Noonee says, "I know I do."
Mourdeyan agrees with Aydan.
Godefroy nods.
You nod to Aydan.
Ichiko says, "Then it is the goal we set for that faith
which matters."
Aydan says, "It matters not what She
actually is. I know that *I* am, and I know that She is much greater than I
would EVER be capable of achieving."
You say, "Because the ideal is part of what we
seek."
Matti nods to you.
Lenerius says, "Now, I think we've just seen what can
happen with differing views of those who hold dear to a single Arkati..."
Godefroy says, "How one defines a God is a matter of
personal choice. To me, Lord Koar and
the Arkati are as Gods above us."
Mourdeyan quietly says, "It is very easy for us to
misunderstand the words and concepts we use when trying to encompass such great
ideals."
Aydan says, "I am content to place myself where I
belong, beneath a being whose greatness FAR outshines anything I could ever
muster."
Godefroy glances at Lenerius.
Nuadjha quietly says, "No, not especially."
Lenerius says, "Imagine throwing all of the others into
the mix."
Nuadjha looks over at Lenerius and shakes his head.
Godefroy asks, "Why must one follow only a single
Arkati?"
Nuadjha quietly says, "We were not debating individual
Arkati, but rather one's relation to an Arkati."
Smarf scratches his head.
Nuadjha quietly says, "Which is really the entire
point."
Lenerius says, "That's what I've been trying to say all
along. One shouldn't."
Noonee says, "What we seek in such worship more or
less."
Noonee nods to Nuadjha.
Noonee says, "Within ourselves."
Mourdeyan quietly says, "Aye, that was the point."
Lenerius says, "That is the main point of Koar's
teachings."
Godefroy blinks at Lenerius.
Lanitha clasps her hand over her mouth.
Keemac stands up.
Lord Keemac just went down.
You say, "In yer view."
(Godefroy appears to be at a loss for words. His mouth works up and down, but no words
come out.)
You cock your head at Lenerius.
You say, "But not in the view of many."
You look at Lenerius and shake your head.
Idallia stands up.
Idallia curtsies.
Journeywoman Idallia just went down.
Godefroy rests a gentle hand on Lanitha's arm.
Speaking slowly to Lenerius, Godefroy asks,
"Where... did you get *that*
idea?"
Noonee says, "I suppose the way is that one must seek
what one can honor."
Noonee's cheeks flush a deep shade of dark rose.
Mourdeyan nods.
Nuadjha quietly asks, "If we were to elevate the idea
that one should not be solely devoted to an Arkati to a more abstract plane,
then we seem to come to an impasse with mortals and their pursuance of set
ideals. We, then, cannot be completely aligned to anything? Are we then
inclined to moral relativism?"
Aydan says, "With so many different aspects of the
Arkati, it would be completely impossible to honor them all."
Speaking to a colossal statue, Godefroy says, "Forgive
him, Lord. He knows not what he
says."
Mourdeyan scrubs her hand over her riotous golden brown hair
in frustration.
Lenerius says, "It is also completely impossible to
only hold to one ideal."
Matti softly says, "I think in some cases we feel the
need to follow one Arkati, but others find wisdom in more than one."
Ichiko looks over at Lenerius and shakes her head.
Lanitha bites her lip.
Lenerius says, "Life is full of exceptions at all
times."
Speaking to Lenerius, Aydan says, "I've been managing
it well enough."
Speaking to Lenerius, Smarf says, "That depends on da
ideal, if ya make it a big enough one..."
Ichiko says, "That is a matter of opinion."
Lenerius says, "That is why Koar does not allow Liabo
and Lornon Arkati to come to open war against one another."
Smarf says, "Like, um, good an' evil."
Nuadjha smiles slightly as he cocks his head to one side,
raggedly cut hair falling from his temples.
Aydan says, "Even if you limited those ideals to one
pantheon, it would be impossible to do because even within Liabo there are
contradictory views."
Godefroy says, "I'm a devoted servant of the Holy King,
and I revere him above all others. I
fought for His daughter. I aid those
that serve His wife. I find solace with
His sons."
Speaking to Godefroy, Lenerius says, "Then you do not
limit yourself to one."
Godefroy asks, "Many of my former flock did
likewise. What is this 'only one
Arkati'?"
Mourdeyan squints.
Speaking to Lenerius, Godefroy asks, "Who does?"
Ichiko says, "Along the path of Voln, one comes to
honor many Arkati."
Mourdeyan agrees with Ichiko.
Lenerius says, "I think we may have a
misunderstanding."
Matti nods to Ichiko.
Mourdeyan quietly says, "Indeed."
Noonee rubs her chin thoughtfully.
Godefroy says, "There is a misunderstanding, yes."
Archales's spirit appears to be lifted by the singing.
Smarf moves to a kneeling position.
Smarf grunts.
Lenerius says, "I've been trying to explain that one
should not solely devote one's life to a single Arkati. At different points in
one's life, the ideals represented by the various ones become important."
Archales winces.
Ichiko traces the lines of her faint silvery mark.
Godefroy traces the lines of his crown tattoo.
Lanitha closes her eyes for a moment.
Archales softly says, "Now you tell us, but I already
got the tattoo."
Godefroy grins at Archales.
Mourdeyan begins chuckling at Archales!
Lenerius chuckles.
Mourdeyan glances at an epauletted ebon brocade bodice.
Noonee grins at Archales.
Archales flushes slightly, some color reaching his cheeks.
Mourdeyan folds her arms over her chest.
Archales softly says, "Sorry for the outburst."
Archales bows to Lenerius.
You say, "I think though that identification with the
ideals of one or another gives up a spiritual center."
Lenerius says, "Basically, while you can have
preference for say, Lorminstra, the ideals of Imaera or Eonak may have a
greater effect on you at different times."
Ichiko says, "In the course of fulfilling a singular
obligation, I've aligned with at least one other Arkati.."
Speaking to Lenerius, Godefroy asks, "Why not? Especially with Lord Koar - or indeed, the
Lady Lumnis, or any other Arkati that has the faith in us to aid us mostly by
guidance, what harm is there in embracing that faith?"
Mourdeyan cocks her head at you.
You say, "Gives us, that is."
Mourdeyan quietly says, "But in that vein, what if
..."
Mourdeyan frowns.
Aydan says, "But even if you do lean toward another
ideal at one point, in the end you still return to the one that you have
dedicated yourself to."
Mourdeyan quietly says, "It takes many paths to find
the one right for yourself."
Lenerius nods to Aydan.
Aydan says, "So that one is still held above any
other."
Lenerius says, "Most of the time."
You nod to Mourdeyan.
Mourdeyan quietly says, "What if there is no ONE."
You say, "But a center is always needful. I mean a center within ourselves."
Mourdeyan nods to you.
Lenerius says, "However, we should recognize that all
will likely touch our lives, at some point."
Mourdeyan quietly says, "But a balance."
Archales chuckles.
Archales agrees with Nuadjha.
Lenerius says, "Koar, in his reign, has recognized
this."
Aydan says, "Then you're one of those rare people that
could actually find such a thing."
Justlamann coughs.
Aydan says, "I've never met one that could truly follow
such a way."
Godefroy asks, "By analogy, are you saying it is wrong
to swear fealty to your Elven King because you may one day find yourself
needing aid from the Royal Chancellor of the Exchequer?"
Speaking softly to himself, Archales says, "Oh good
point."
Nuadjha quietly says, "If you wish to say that you know
yourself well enough at a single point in your life to dedicate yourself
entirely to one cause, and never think you might change or come to view it
differently, then I advise you to live a little
longer."
Justlamann stands up.
Justlamann bows.
You nod to Justlamann.
Ichiko bows to Justlamann.
Lenerius says, "Only if King Tyrnian represented
strength, and the Chancelor represented life."
Justlamann just went down.
Nuadjha seems to lose some dexterity.
Lenerius says, "Some things don't bear out well in such
analogies."
Aydan asks, "Could the king order your death should he
really wish it?"
Nuadjha quietly says, "Any analogy even breaks
down."
Nuadjha shrugs.
Nuadjha coughs.
Nuadjha quietly says, "Eventually, even."
Nuadjha leans softly against Mourdeyan.
Mourdeyan smiles.
Mourdeyan rubs her eyes.
Lanitha shifts her weight, restlessly leaning back and
forth.
Nuadjha takes a drink from his herbal honey tea.
You cock your head.
Aydan says, "If he could, and I wanted to stay alive,
I'd consider carefully what would happen should my loyalty stray."
Nuadjha chuckles.
Lenerius chuckles.
Nuadjha quietly says, "Fear should not enter into the
discussion on ideals."
Nuadjha quietly says, "It merely obscures the
point."
Godefroy says, "You miss the point. Lorminstra is subject to Lord Koar, not
totally separate. Children in the Empire
are taught this as soon as they understand words. You can serve a vassal without abandoning
their liege-lord."
Nuadjha smiles.
Aydan says, "Fear is an excellent means of making
someone follow an ideal."
Nuadjha quietly says, "Ah, but now you argue for an
all-encompassing loyalty to an ideal."
Aydan says, "Otherwise much of Lornon wouldn't have a
lot to work with."
Lenerius asks, "What if you need to do something in
life that falls under the dominion of a Lornon Arkati?"
Nuadjha quietly says, "You enfold the entire pantheon
of Liabo into the following of Koar."
Mourdeyan quietly says, "Lornon is...."
Mourdeyan's entire body tenses as she tightens her grip on
her herbal honey tea.
Nuadjha rubs Mourdeyan tenderly.
Godefroy says, "I challenge you to find something a
good-hearted person would need to do that falls under Their
demesnes alone."
Mourdeyan breathes very slowly and looks much calmer.
Mourdeyan blushes a nice shade of pink.
Mourdeyan clears her throat.
Nuadjha smiles.
Lanitha fidgets, glancing at Godefroy.
Lenerius says, "That's the key word, alone."
Mourdeyan quietly asks, "Their who
?"
Mourdeyan cocks her head at Godefroy.
Nuadjha quietly says, "You ought never to
"need" to do anything of Lornon, should you not wish it. Take an
example of having to torture a friend to free your family. You have a
choice."
Godefroy asks, "Lornon's demesnes. What sphere do they control that the Lords
and Ladies of Light cannot provide?"
Archales turns to face Nuadjha.
Archales softly asks, "You'd torture me fer
family?"
Archales peers quizzically at Nuadjha.
Nuadjha chuckles.
Noonee rubs her chin thoughtfully.
Nuadjha quietly says, "No, Archales, I would find
another way."
Nuadjha leans on Archales, giving him a companionable grin.
Archales slowly empties his lungs.
Archales softly says, "I like that plan better."
Nuadjha smiles.
Archales softly says, "I agree with Nuadjha."
Archales hiccups!
Lanitha gazes at Godefroy.
Archales nods.
Mourdeyan acts puzzled.
Lenerius says, "They control a few for a less virtuous
bent..."
Godefroy says, "You could seek Koar's aid, that justice
would deliver them. Ask Lumnis to give
you the wisdom to find another way."
Aydan traces the lines of his gold scroll tattoo.
Speaking quietly to himself, Aydan
says, "Means not justified by the end."
Nuadjha nods to Aydan.
Smarf grins at Matti.
Godefroy shakes his head.
Godefroy stands up.
Lenerius says, "However, the point is that some things
you must do may not always fall solely under the spheres of Liabo."
Archales softly says, "Or Jastev to just give you the
answer."
Archales removes a rhimar-bound leather canteen from in his
threaded hip-satchel.
Archales opens his leather canteen.
Lanitha stands up.
Archales takes a drink from his leather canteen.
Archales looks quite relaxed.
Nuadjha chuckles.
Noonee asks, "As is getting rather heated, perhaps Isci
should close the panel?"
Aydan says, "I can speak for my family when I say the
last thing they would wish me to do, for their sake, is compromise my integrity
to save them."
Noonee says, "The speaker's choice."
You nod to Noonee.
Mourdeyan takes a drink from her herbal honey tea.
You say, "Perhaps so."
Nuadjha quietly says, "Shall we just say that there is
both dark and light in us all, and that striving for an ideal is not possessing that ideal? One is never perfect, all
paths are not set, there are multitudes of
possibilities in the world."
Godefroy says, "I'm done here, I think. May the blessings of the Lord Koar be upon
you all."
Mourdeyan takes a drink from her herbal honey tea.
Lenerius says, "I don't mind continuing the debate. It
is the point of this festival to exchange such ideas."
Ichiko bows to Godefroy.
Archales softly asks, "What are we agreeing to?"
Archales works his fingers under his cavalier hat and
scratches his head.
Lanitha joins Godefroy's group.
Speaking to Aydan, Godefroy says, "Come home to us
soon, mate. We miss you."
Speaking quietly to Godefroy, Nuadjha says, "May Phoen illumine your steps."
Aydan chuckles.
Godefroy smiles at Nuadjha.
Speaking softly to Nuadjha, Archales says, "You jus
said a mouthful."
Godefroy bows respectfully before Ichiko, his eyes fixed
firmly on the ground.
Nuadjha winks at Archales.
Archales takes a drink from his leather canteen.
Archales looks quite relaxed.
Archales stands up.
Godefroy bows to a colossal statue.
Noonee says, "Was a suggestion only for the Serenity
chair."
Noonee nods.
Lanitha bows to a colossal statue.
You nod to Noonee.
Mourdeyan stands up.
Godefroy gestures while calling upon the lesser spirits for
aid...
Godefroy gestures.
Godefroy's group becomes blurred, and then vanishes!
You say, "We will continue if folks wish."
Mourdeyan blinks.
Mourdeyan quietly says, "Gads."
Mourdeyan shakes her head, clucking her tongue.
Speaking to Noonee, you say, "But thank ye for the suggestion, Noonee."
Nuadjha stands up.
Archales hums an old tune.
Nuadjha bends forward at the waist and attempts to reach
down and touch his toes with his fingers.
Archales softly says, "Thank you for the lively
discussion everyone."
Archales takes a gallant bow, tipping his hat slightly,
before sweeping it behind his back.
After a moment's pause he rises and places his hat firmly on his head,
adjusting it to fit.
Nuadjha quietly says, "Aye, indeed."
Nuadjha smiles.
Mourdeyan turns to face Lenerius.
Archales softly says, "Most enlightening."
Ichiko bows to Archales.
Archales bows to Ichiko.
Lenerius says, "I think that brings us to a
close."
You say, "Well, then I will take my fellow officer's
suggestion and close the panel at this point."
You nod.
Nuadjha smiles.
You smile.
Archales blushes a bright dark red to the tops of his ears.
Matti stands up.
You stand back up.
Archales fidgets.
Ichiko stands up.
Mourdeyan quietly says, "I am leaving with many new
questions, and few answers...but I must say, this
isn't a bad thing."
Archales softly says, "I'm sorry I thought it was
already over."
Lenerius says, "We've at least learned of how many
interpretations of faith there can be just amongst one Arkati's
followers."
You say, "With a thanks to Lenerius
for speaking to us tonight."
