PANARKATI FESTIVAL[Hall of the Dark]
This chamber is a contradiction at its very core. It is called dark, and yet the room is bathed
in golden light. A
multitude of candles burn in sconces around the chamber, their incandescence
augmented by the flickering of fireflies held within a splendid crystal globe
hanging from the ceiling. The
walls are vibrant with color where frescos are painted in a marvelous panorama
of line and color. And yet, despite all
the trappings and luminous illumination, the chamber is as cold as a tomb. You also see a grey marble altar with some
stuff on it.
Also here: Relio, Berkana, Naessi
Obvious exits: up
Evesong, Venrath, Marclar, Aydan, Shonison, Elaerina, Laeyandra and Mitheirien
followed.
Berkana nods to you.
Naessi nods to you in greeting.
You nod to Berkana in greeting.
Marclar kisses Naessi tenderly on the cheek.
You nod to Naessi in greeting.
Evesong nods to Naessi in greeting.
Berkana gives Marclar a lingering kiss on the cheek.
Naessi smiles at Marclar.
Marclar kisses Berkana on the cheek.
Evesong nods to Berkana in greeting.
You say, "Please all be
seated."
Evesong sits down.
Naessi waves to Evesong.
Mitheirien sits down.
Elaerina sits down.
Relio sits down.
Evesong smiles at Naessi.
Shonison nods to Naessi in greeting.
You say, "Our lecturers for this eve are Naessi and
Berkana."
Naessi raises an eyebrow.
Laeyandra sits down.
Naessi nods to Shonison.
Venrath sits down.
You say, "They are going to speak to us about
Eorgina."
Shonison sits down.
Marclar smiles.
Journeywoman Idallia just arrived.
You say, "Please be kind enough to give them yer full
attention."
Evesong raises an eyebrow.
Idallia sits down.
You say, "And hold all questions and comments until
they have opened the floor to them."
You nod to Berkana.
You nod to Naessi.
(Iscikella moves to the back of the room.)
You sit down.
Naessi smiles.
Berkana says, "Greetings one and all, for our discourse
on Eorgina."
Laeyandra grins at Berkana.
Laeyandra leans forward and rests her chin in her hand, a
thoughtful expression on her face.
Lady Michiko just moved quietly into the room, her group
following closely.
Naessi smiles.
Berkana asks, "We hope to provide you with some insight
about our Queen, enough to create some lively discussion, perhaps?"
Berkana smiles.
Michiko nods to Marclar.
Evesong takes a drink from her herbal honey tea.
Michiko sits down.
Laeyandra turns an inquisitive ear towards Berkana.
Berkana says, "I'm going to begin with a bit of history
about our Lady."
Berkana says, "From what little we truly know of
Eorgina, among that which we consider fact is her existence first as a
ruby-eyed grey drake, then, born of dust and debris, an exceedingly lovely
woman of great strength and ferocity."
Berkana says, "Anyone who has visited her shrine in
Solhaven can see that, from the colossal statue in the central hall."
Berkana smiles.
Axhinde sits down near Michiko.
Berkana says, "Eor ail'Giina was originally the
Berkana says, "After all... they just looked like
fields of diamonds..."
Berkana stares off into space.
Berkana says, "Sailing on strong thermals that hugged
the spiked cliffs, she drifted down for a closer look and as she passed through
a cloud, the drake did not see the outcropping of granite in her path."
Venrath glances at Shonison.
Shonison nods to Venrath.
Berkana says, "The evitable crash tumbled the great
grey drake from the sky, into a circle of pines, where she lay dying."
Berkana says, "I have a tendency to speak a bit quickly
and clipped, so forgive me if I seem to be plodding along."
Berkana says, "I'd rather not rush through the
important points of Her life."
Berkana takes a drink from her ruby red wine.
Naessi smiles at Berkana.
Berkana says, "Beh'Amant keened with a grief so deep
that his mournful cry grew in depth and amplitude, increasing to such degree
that a fork of lightning struck the granite outcropping, raining down clouds of
dust and degree."
Marclar smiles at Berkana.
Berkana says, "It was there, near the fallen grey
drake, wounded from this destructive force of his grief, that he watched the
birth of the one he named Eorgina."
Berkana asks, "Mind you now... myth has it that when
Arkati are born, they are born fully adult... although who knows if this is
truly the case with all Arkati?"
Berkana shrugs.
Laeyandra ponders.
Berkana says, "And so when she emerged from the storm
of dust, she was fully a grown woman."
You nod.
Evesong smiles.
Berkana says, "This is what Beh'Amant saw, and he saw
the usual ruby flecks in her grey eyes..."
Berkana says, "Along with the fierce determination so
familiar to him."
Marclar smiles.
Berkana says, "For hundreds of years thereafter, she
was happy to spend time among the drakes, still, until she met the Arkati known
as Koar. ."
Berkana says, "Now, Koar was no youthful boy..."
Berkana chuckles.
Laeyandra grins.
Berkana says, "No an old man, nae... but still as
Arkati's mature, the wisdow they gain matures their countenance."
Berkana says, "Koar was attracted to her quick wit, her
strange ruby-flecked, grey eyes, and her intelligence. She also inticed him with
her adventurousness and shocking proclivities."
Laeyandra ponders.
Berkana chuckles.
Marclar grins.
Evesong smiles at Berkana.
Elaerina blushes a delicate shade of pale pink.
You smirk.
Berkana says, "Eorgina haunted the caverns of the
drakes less after a time, as she was spending more time now, among her
bretheren, she decided to build a home up in Nagothrym."
Marclar rubs a carved stone fortress locket.
Berkana says, "There Eorgina found a promontory with
graceful arching eves and flying buttresses that looked like the bony ridges in
a drake s wing, and there she brought 209 elves of all skills to the aerie
retreat, to build Her home, Li'aerion."
Berkana says, "Apparently on the east balcony of the
home, there was a huge pedestal mounted with an enormous diamond."
Laeyandra cocks her head at Berkana.
Berkana asks, "So much for lessons learned, I
suppose... or perhaps it was there as a reminder of tragedy?"
You rub your chin thoughtfully.
Relio appears to be trying hard not to grin.
Berkana says, "It was positioned precisely so it would
catch the first rays of the sun as it lifted over the Eastern horizon, sending
out reflections of colored light that sparkled throughout the manse."
Axhinde nods to Michiko.
Michiko chuckles.
Berkana says, "The rainbow-hued glints of dawn light
would seep through the grey curtains and awake Eorgina
each morning... but so it is told..."
Berkana nods.
Berkana says, "Any mortal seeing the burst of light as
sunlight struck the colossal gem would be blinded for life. ."
You ponder.
Berkana says, "Myth says that Eorgina sent the elven
craftsmen home, sightless and unable to create anything again that might equal Li'aerion."
Aydan whispers, "No wonder her followers like darkness
so much."
You grin at Aydan.
Venrath whispers, "I suppose they counted themselves
lucky to return home at all."
Berkana says, "Eorgina also like to spend the hours in
debate with Fash'lo'nae and this often led to collaborations."
You quietly whisper to Venrath, "Likely so."
You nod to Venrath.
Laeyandra ponders.
Berkana says, "I shudder to think, given Fash'lo'nae's
interest in the darker side of things from time to time, what these ventures
created."
Berkana shivers.
Naessi smiles.
Venrath ponders.
Evesong smiles.
You shift your weight.
You shudder.
Berkana says, "Given Eorgina's own life as a drake, it
is no surprise that Eorgina advocated that the Arkati should strive to emulate
the greatest creatures extant in Elanthia.
And only in this way, could they hope to fulfill the promise of grandeur
and power that was both their gift and their destiny."
Berkana says, "Many agreed with her and were happy to
follow the path she prescribed."
Berkana smirks.
You lean back.
Laeyandra cocks her head at Berkana.
Berkana says, "Eorgina was not only captivating and
enticing, she was also very powerful and persuasive."
Aydan whispers, "As long as they also agreed to stand
below her."
Berkana asks, "She was adored, followed blindly, and of
course, with Koar at her side, how could she fail to be seen as the Queenly
persona she exuded?"
Berkana smiles.
Evesong nods to Berkana.
Marclar nods to Berkana.
You wink at Aydan.
Berkana says, "We know from what history has professed,
that not all the Arkati were so convinced."
Berkana says, "Her reign as Koar's consort... if she
was even that much... ended when Lumnis' birth was heralded one day."
Marclar smirks.
Evesong frowns.
Berkana says, "Eorgina of course did not dwell much on
this little youthling of an Arkati."
Berkana waves her hand in a dismissive gesture.
You cough.
Laeyandra furrows her brow.
Elaerina winks at you.
Berkana asks, "What was she, after all, but a child in
comparison to the woman Eorgina was?"
Berkana chuckles.
Marclar agrees with Berkana.
You wink at Elaerina.
Naessi smiles at Marclar.
Berkana says, "The years passed and little was said
about Lumnis, until, Eorgina learned they were to be wed."
Aydan whispers, "What was She?
The one that ended up taking that place at Koar's side that Eorgina wanted so
much."
You nod to Aydan.
Berkana says, "Fash'lo'nae was the one who brought the
news to Eorgina, but she did not react as many might expect."
Berkana says, "No... Eorgina was not given to petty
flights of jealousy or unwarranted rages."
Evesong smiles.
Berkana shakes her head.
Berkana says, "She just accepted the news that
Fash'lo'nae had to pass along, and she retreated within her aerie, shut the
doors, and there she remained until the day that the Arkati were sent to the
moons. ."
Mitheirien ponders.
Berkana says, "One night, Beh'Amant alighted on her
balcony, and hearing the sound of the beasts strong wings beat in the sky, she
finally ended her reclusive life."
Evesong smiles at Berkana.
Venrath whispers, "Was this before or after the
Ur-Daemon war?"
Berkana says, "He spirited her away to join the
delegation of Arkati, and upon alighting from his back, Eorgina moved to Koar's
side, where he clasped her hand."
You quietly whisper to Venrath, "Would be before. When the Arkati went to the moons was during
the War as the Drakes sent them there then, possibly to protect them, but also
likely to keep any from siding with the Daemons."
Venrath whispers, "Yes, that's right. Thank you."
You nod to Venrath.
Berkana says, "But Lumnis was also there, and she also
stood beside Koar. Removing her hands
from his, she backed away."
Berkana says, "It was then that she noticed the Arkati
was divided into two groups... those heading to Liabo..."
Berkana says, "And those destined for Lornon."
Laeyandra furrows her brow.
Berkana says, "With a cold smile at Lumnis, she turned
and walked to the Lornon group, taking a place between Fash lo nae and a young
Arkati she had briefly known, named Luukos."
Berkana says, "Koar merely offered her a nod, then
ushered Lumnis over to the group bound for Liabo."
Berkana says, "Little more is known past this
point..."
Berkana says, "There are historical suppositions about
the Lornon role in the coming of the Ur-Daemons and the subsequent war."
Berkana says, "And Eorgina's role along with it."
Berkana shrugs.
Naessi smiles.
Berkana says, "For now though, all Arkati have agreed,
at Koar's behest, not to fight among themselves and against each other."
Berkana says, "But one day... Eorgina will be Queen of
the Arkati."
Berkana smiles darkly.
Berkana takes a drink from her ruby red wine.
Evesong nods to Berkana.
Marclar agrees with Berkana.
Marclar's Eorgina amulet emits a soft grey glow.
Berkana nods to Naessi.
Marclar raises his hand and slowly curls his fingers into a
clenched fist. Pitch black tendrils of
essence sinuously emerge from the sigil on Marclar's glove and swirl around his
hand in a malevolent dance before slowly dissipating.
Naessi smiles.
Naessi nods.
Laeyandra smiles at Marclar.
Laeyandra grins.
Evesong shifts her weight.
Naessi says, "Thank you, Berkana."
Berkana winks at Marclar.
Marclar grins at Berkana.
Naessi says, "For those of you that do not know me, my
name is Naessi. I consider Icemule my
home, though I spend a great deal of time in Solhaven as well."
Evesong smiles at Naessi.
Naessi says, "I want to thank you for coming
tonight. Though Berkana and I are both
speaking about Queen Eorgina, you might find my half of things a bit more opinionated."
Naessi smiles slightly.
Naessi says, "What does Queen Eorgina stand for? I m sure most of you could recite the
requisite Darkness, Domination, and Tyranny in your sleep. But skimming just the surface will never
do."
Berkana chuckles.
Laeyandra grins.
Naessi shakes her head.
Naessi smiles.
Berkana says, "Compared to Naessi, I'm positively
matronly."
You lean back.
Berkana winks at Naessi.
You chuckle at Berkana.
Shonison chuckles.
Naessi begins chuckling at Berkana!
Evesong chuckles.
Speaking to Berkana, you say, "Hardly think so."
Elaerina grins.
Marclar grins.
Naessi says, "Queen Eorgina s spheres of influence are
broad. Surely each one of you has had
your will dominated at one point, or dominated the will of another. ."
Naessi raises an eyebrow.
Naessi says, "And we also all know what the consequences
are when a tyrant appears and takes control."
Naessi says, "I would also assume, without fear of
rebuke, that you have all felt the effects of some kind of Darkness in your
life. Maybe some more than others, but
none are left untouched by it."
Evesong shifts her weight.
(Naessi nods slowly.)
You shift your weight.
Laeyandra looks thoughtfully at Naessi.
Relio stands up.
Relio bows.
Relio just left.
Naessi says, "These are the realities of the world we
live in. Each and every day, in every
city in Elanthia, these principles are acted out and practiced in some fashion
or another. ."
Naessi says, "Most of you have recently felt the
effects of a sweeping Darkness brought by those of Queen Eorgina s Lornon
friends. And some of you chose to
rejoice."
Naessi smiles.
Naessi says, "And some of you chose to fight it."
Michiko smirks.
Laeyandra nods.
Naessi says, "And there were others that chose to
ignore it and simply let the scenes play out before you."
Marclar grins.
Evesong nods to Naessi.
Aydan whispers, "Being touched by darkness is different
from being corrupted by it."
Naessi says, "And in each individual, when the choice
was made, a service to Queen Eorgina was done.
Each time you... or you..."
Naessi points at Shonison.
You quietly whisper to Aydan, "Indeed."
Naessi points at Venrath.
Shonison chuckles.
Berkana grins.
Venrath looks thoughtfully at Naessi.
You squint.
Naessi says, "...sought to impress your will on that of
another, Queen Eorgina sat back and smiled.
Struggles to gain power and assert domination, whether large or small,
are all in Her domain.
."
Naessi smiles.
Evesong nods.
Naessi ponders.
Naessi says, "Of course, there are large instances of
this and rather small ones, but it is the very nature of the lesser races as a
whole to battle one another for power in all its forms. ."
Naessi says, "Not all the battles are bloody, but the
fact remains that you simply cannot escape this in your everyday actions."
Mitheirien ponders.
Mitheirien leans forward and rests her chin in her hand, a
thoughtful expression on her face.
Naessi says, "This is what I think of when people...
some people..."
Naessi smiles.
Naessi says, "Attempt to impress their will upon ME and
press me on the topic of my Lady."
Naessi says, "They say, How can you worship such a dark and
malevolent force? and
I think, how can you not pay homage to
something as pervasive as Her spirit?"
(Marclar nods slowly, listening intently)
Naessi says, "Even King Koar does not meddle in Queen
Eorgina s affairs. Even when his own
wife, Lumnis, pled with him to meddle, he did not. This is because Koar is wise, and because he
knows that there is a necessary balance to be maintained. ."
Naessi smiles.
Laeyandra ponders.
Naessi says, "Stopping Queen Eorgina when his wife
asked him to would be like me asking YOU to cut out half of your heart, or your
soul."
Aydan whispers, "No, He knew Eorgina would rally the
rest of Lornon against them and the world would suffer."
Berkana grins at Naessi.
Evesong smiles slightly.
Laeyandra grins.
Naessi smiles at Berkana.
You shake your head.
Naessi says, "Of course, all are welcome to spend their
lives blindly grasping after a light that is ever-elusive. ."
Berkana chuckles.
Marclar grins slowly.
You quietly whisper to Aydan, "I think it's more cause Koar is just a typical man. "Don't bother me with that woman
stuff" is his response."
Naessi says, "It does take a bit of a heard-hearted
person to accept some basic facts of our world."
Naessi shrugs.
Evesong smiles at Naessi.
Naessi says, "Because when night falls and the sunlight
bleeds from the lands, there is no light at all... save for that created by the
hands of the lesser races. ."
Naessi says, "And when day breaks and people rejoice
and think that the night is over, long shadows are cast and hold still the
promise of night, and of Darkness."
Naessi reaches out and touches a grey moonstone talisman.
Naessi smiles.
Marclar reaches out and touches a grey moonstone talisman.
Naessi says, "That is all I have to say this
evening."
Naessi nods.
Naessi says, "Thank you for listening."
Marclar applauds Naessi.
You applaud.
Laeyandra applauds Naessi.
Shonison applauds.
Elaerina applauds.
Michiko applauds.
Laeyandra applauds Berkana.
Venrath nods to Naessi.
Evesong applauds.
Naessi applauds Berkana.
Evesong smiles at Berkana.
Marclar applauds Berkana.
Venrath nods to Berkana.
Evesong smiles at Naessi.
Naessi says, "Of course, it seems we have a bit of time
for questions and the like."
Naessi nods to you.
You nod to Naessi.
Mitheirien quietly says, "Um, I had something to say,
if you don't mind..."
Shonison raises his hand.
Berkana curtsies.
Mitheirien blushes a delicate shade of pink.
Naessi smiles at Mitheirien.
Naessi says, "Of course."
You smile at Mitheirien.
Berkana says, "Absolutely... questions are
welcome."
Berkana smiles.
Venrath whispers, "There is just no escaping the
meddlesome nature of any of the Arkati, is there? No matter what you do, you serve or please or
displease one or another of them."
You quietly whisper to Venrath, "Aye, I'm afraid we are
all somewhat under their sway always."
You cock your head at Mitheirien.
Mitheirien quietly says, "Well... you seem to be
equating the domination of will to being a dark thing. Or, some people are. But
I would think it's more a neutral task. I mean... when any seeks to turn another
to their way of thought, they are trying to dominate their feelings. And when
they succeed, that means they have done just that. But that could be about
something good or bad."
Mitheirien blinks.
Mitheirien babbles something unintelligible.
Mitheirien quietly says, "Oh, I'm not saying this very
well. ."
Mitheirien quietly says, "Let me try again."
Naessi smiles at Mitheirien.
Laeyandra smiles at Mitheirien.
Speaking to Mitheirien, you say, "Don't get
nervous."
You smile at Mitheirien.
Evesong looks thoughtfully at Mitheirien.
Mitheirien quietly asks, "If, say, Iscikella managed to
convince a follower of the Grandfather that her way was best, wouldn't that be
a form of domination? Is that then evil, simply because it's a thing in
Eorgina's realm of influence?"
Naessi says, "Of course not."
Mitheirien quietly says, "Or, thing, rather."
Mitheirien blushes a delicate shade of pink.
Berkana smiles at Naessi.
You blink.
Naessi says, "I don't see Queen Eorgina as being
particularly Evil."
Mitheirien nods to Naessi.
You quietly whisper to Aydan, "How I get involved in
this?"
Evesong nods to Naessi.
Aydan whispers, "Resident Lumnisian."
You chuckle at Aydan.
Naessi says, "The domination of one's will over another
is simply in Her sphere of influence, and when it is
done, she smiles on it regardless."
Naessi nods.
Mitheirien leans forward and rests her chin in her hand, a
thoughtful expression on her face.
Marclar quietly says, "Evil is a label the uneducated
place on what they cease to understand."
Marclar nods to Naessi.
Naessi says, "Yes."
Naessi nods to Marclar.
Evesong agrees with Marclar.
Naessi turns to face Shonison.
Naessi cocks her head at Shonison.
Shonison says, "A simple question."
Laeyandra leans forward and rests her chin in her hand, a
thoughtful expression on her face.
Shonison asks, "What exactly did Lumnis appeal for Koar
to do that he refused?"
Aydan hums quietly to himself.
Marclar grins at Aydan.
You smile at Aydan.
Elaerina smiles at Shonison.
Aydan whispers, "That incident is my true reason for
existance, I believe."
Aydan whispers, "Or at least, being
what I am."
Shonison leans back.
Berkana leans softly against Naessi.
Berkana says, "I think Naessi is combing the dusty
cobwebs of her mind."
Shonison grins.
Marclar rubs Naessi gently.
Mitheirien giggles at Berkana!
Berkana grins.
You chuckle.
Venrath says, "Perhaps her will has been temporarily
dominated."
Evesong smiles at Naessi.
Shonison chuckles.
Laeyandra grins at Venrath.
Berkana says, "Well, we're not exactly the most popular
speaking guests at most gatherings."
Berkana chuckles.
Berkana says, "So if we're a bit rusty... forgive
us."
Berkana grins.
Shonison says, "I bet."
Venrath says, "In the meantime, I had a question on a
point of Berkana's."
Aydan says, "Well, I've read that particular legend and
I can say what happened as far as how it is recorded in it."
Berkana says, "Which reminds me... Thank you,
Iscikella, for inviting us to participate."
Shonison asks, "Perhaps Aydan can answer?"
Berkana nods to Venrath.
You nod to Berkana.
You say, "Surely."
Berkana says, "Aye, if Aydan wishes to answer, feel
free."
Berkana grins at Aydan.
Elaerina stands up.
You nod to Elaerina.
Venrath says, "If Aydan has an answer for the first
question, then that should take precedence."
You quietly whisper to Elaerina, "Thank you for
coming!"
Elaerina says, "Thankee, all fer a grand evening."
Evesong smiles at Naessi.
Berkana says, "Ah... here she is."
Shonison asks, "Stumped ya, eh?"
Shonison peers quizzically at Naessi.
Berkana grins at Naessi.
Great Lady Elaerina just went up.
Idallia stands up.
Marclar rubs Naessi gently.
Naessi says, "Pardon me."
Naessi scowls.
Aydan says, "More or less, it was brought to Lumnis'
attention that Eorgina had been keeping the craftsmen and their families captive after building her home."
Naessi slowly empties her lungs.
Shonison nods to Aydan.
Naessi says, "Ah."
Naessi nods to Berkana.
Laeyandra blinks.
Naessi nods to Aydan.
Laeyandra furrows her brow.
Naessi says, "Aydan is correct. Lumnis was upset with regards to Queen
Eorgina's use of elven craftsmen to rebuild her home after the Ur-daemon
wars."
Shonison says, "I see, thank you both."
Aydan says, "This upset Lumnis, and She asked Eorgina
to explain herself. When Eorgina did not, Lumnis went to Koar to request that
He do something about it."
Shonison nods.
Naessi says, "Which he did not."
You say, "And Koar's interest in the lesser races is small,
so he chose not to involve himself."
Naessi nods.
Shonison says, "I have noticed."
Shonison nods to you.
Speaking to you, Naessi asks, "You speak for Koar's
motivations?"
Naessi gawks at you.
Mitheirien quietly says, "That would have been a simple
explination, I think. "I wanted craftsmen. I got
those ones"."
Mitheirien stares off into space.
Naessi grins at Mitheirien.
You say, "That Koar has little interest in the lesser
races is well known."
Marclar grins at Mitheirien.
You chuckle at Naessi.
You say, "He is rather... standoffish."
Berkana takes a drink from her ruby red wine.
Naessi says, "Perhaps, but I would not presume to guess
at his motivation for a particular decision.
Still, much is myth and interpretations of myth."
Naessi shrugs.
Naessi smiles.
Berkana nods to Naessi.
Marclar nods to Naessi.
Aydan says, "And countless legends state that He never
directly intervenes, only that He watches."
Laeyandra nods to Naessi.
You say, "I would not put too much store in him not helping
either."
You chuckle.
Berkana asks, "There was a question or questions for
me?"
Naessi says, "Her home was rebuilt."
Naessi smiles.
Venrath nods to Berkana.
You say, "But Venrath had a question, I believe. ."
Evesong shifts her weight.
Speaking to Berkana, Venrath asks, "In what way is it
supposed that Eorgina wad involved in bringing the Ur-Daemons to
Elanthia?"
Berkana says, "Ah ha..."
Berkana grins.
Michiko looks over at Axhinde and shakes her head.
You shudder.
Berkana says, "This is something I was just recently
going over in my studies..."
Berkana ponders.
Venrath turns an inquisitive ear towards Berkana.
Evesong raises an eyebrow in Berkana's direction.
Mitheirien turns an inquisitive ear towards Berkana.
Berkana says, "Give me a moment to see if I can recall
the exact nugget... ."
Laeyandra grins at Berkana.
Berkana removes an arcane ensigiled grimoire from in her
crushed velvet cloak.
Berkana put a glass of ruby red wine in her crushed velvet
cloak.
Berkana just opened an arcane ensigiled grimoire.
Speaking to Berkana, Venrath says, "My desire for
information is patient. Take your time."
Berkana grins at Venrath.
Laeyandra grins at Venrath.
Berkana says, "If you have another question for Naessi
while I comb my notes, feel free."
Berkana chuckles.
Evesong smiles.
Mitheirien raises her hand.
Naessi nods to Mitheirien.
Naessi smiles at Mitheirien.
Venrath folds her hands in her lap.
Mitheirien quietly says, "Why do you feel Eorgina chose
to join Lornon? ."
Marclar smiles at Mitheirien.
Naessi ponders.
Evesong smiles at Mitheirien.
Mitheirien flushes slightly, some color reaching her cheeks.
Naessi says, "To make a guess... I would say that she
felt at home with those already going to Lornon. Arkati like Fash'lo'nae,
whom she already had an established friendship with."
Evesong nods to Naessi.
Naessi says, "Though I said I do not view Her as necessarily evil, that does not mean she is all
sweetness and light."
Naessi smiles.
Marclar nods to Naessi.
Mitheirien giggles.
Berkana drums her fingers on her ensigiled grimoire, lost in
thought.
Mitheirien quietly says, "I'm sure that can be said of
most of us. But I see what you mean."
Berkana says, "Ah... here..."
Naessi says, "I once heard a Dark one say that Lornon
offers "Life without limits."
I think that is a lovely phrase and sums it up well."
Naessi smiles.
Naessi turns to face Berkana.
Berkana smiles at Naessi.
Evesong nods to Naessi.
Shonison chuckles.
Berkana says, "So much scribbling..."
You chuckle at Berkana.
Berkana says, "I need to organize this better."
Berkana grins.
Laeyandra grins at Berkana.
Laeyandra cocks her head at Berkana.
Shonison says, "Life without limits...sounds like the
party moon."
Speaking to Berkana, Venrath says, "I feel for your
pain on that account."
Michiko chuckles.
Naessi grins at Shonison.
Evesong looks thoughtfully at Shonison.
Berkana says, "It is said that among those sent to the
moon of Lornon was Eorgina, an Arkati with a passion for domination. She was
the strongest personality of those there, and the one with the most talent for
leadership. She was tired of taking a backseat to the Drakes, and having to grovel
for what she wanted. With her masters eyes off her activities for the time,
she acted."
Berkana says, "She went to Fash lo nae, the scholar of
those on Lornon, and asked if he had found anything in his studies that would
rid the Arkati of dragon rule. Fash lo nae, punished at one time for spreading
knowledge to the lesser races and bringing them fire, promised Eorgina his
aid."
Berkana says, "Fash'lo'nae had never mentioned his
planar studies to his masters or his fellow servants. Nor had he ever mentioned
the beings he found in the alternate dimensions. Thus, Eorgina and the other
Lornon Arkati were quite surprised when presented with an Ur- Daemon."
Laeyandra furrows her brow.
Berkana says, "Eorgina, quick to recover from her
surprise, wasted no time in pointing out the Drakes and their abundance of mana
to the Ur-Daemons. Were they to remove the dragons, they could share in the
abundance Elanthia presented."
Berkana says, "The Ur-Daemons were not stupid. The Arkatis ploy was an
obvious one, but the rewards were real. Should they remove the Drakes, the
Ur-Daemons would be free to plunder the planet as they saw fit."
Berkana says, "They had no intention of sharing with
the Arkati, and these lesser creatures had ended their usefulness the moment
they had opened the Veil. With a smile, the Ur-Daemons agreed to help the
Arkati."
You shudder.
(Venrath nods slowly at Berkana.)
Berkana says, "Whether or not this legend is true is
lost to time. What is known for certain is that the Ur-Daemons found their way
to our dimension, and with them came chaos."
Berkana just closed an arcane ensigiled grimoire.
You say, "And on that note, I need to close the
panel."
You shudder.
Naessi smiles.
Berkana starts chuckling at you!
You say, "As we have another panel yet this eve."
Laeyandra rubs you gently.
Marclar grins.
Berkana says, "As you wish."
Berkana grins at you.
You grin crookedly.
Evesong smiles slightly.
Berkana curtsies.
Mitheirien stands up.
Naessi says, "I'd like to invite you all to the ritual
being held in honor of Queen Eorgina in three days' time. It is on your schedules, I believe."
Naessi smiles.
Evesong nods to Naessi.
You say, "I want to thank Berkana and Naessi for taking
the time to speak to us."
Michiko stands up.
Naessi clasps Berkana's hand tenderly.
Venrath says, "Yes. I suspected it would come to
Fash'lo'nae's ...interest... in the Veil."
You applaud Berkana.
Berkana put an arcane ensigiled grimoire in her crushed
velvet cloak.
You applaud Naessi.
Mitheirien quietly says, "Thank you for your words and
thoughts."
Evesong applauds Berkana.
Berkana grins at Venrath.
Mitheirien bows to Naessi.
You stand back up.
Evesong applauds Naessi.
Idallia applauds.
Mitheirien bows to Berkana.
Shonison stands up.
Naessi smiles at Mitheirien.
Shonison applauds.
Berkana says, "The two were a deadly combination."
Aydan twists his head slightly, cracking his neck. He looks relieved.
Berkana winks at Venrath.
Mitheirien blushes a delicate shade of pink.
Shonison says, "It has been informative."
You say, "If all will please join me I will return folks
to the Meeting Hall."
