************END NOTE************

[Cliff Overhang]
The path stops midway to the top of the cliff, where a large man-made overhang provides a majestic view of the ocean below. From this height, the rocks on either side of the cliff surrounding the beach take the shape of arms cradling Nature's beauty. Exotic flowers of incredible beauty surround the area. The cliff wall has been carved into a shallow cave leaving a large, half-exposed boulder shaped into an altar.
Also here: GameHost Roxia, Meriman, Kalynna, Renowned Lord Myrefalcon, Lady Catlas who is sitting, Benjon who is sitting, Alexiel who is sitting, Ichiko who is sitting, Lady Witcheaven who is sitting, Valiria who is sitting
Obvious paths: down

Blizzerdd moves purposefully over to a midnight blue silk canopy, held aloft by four modwir poles driven deeply into the sand. He stands beside it and turns to the assembled guests.

Valiria smiles.

(Blizzerdd confidently strides toward the front of the assembled people.)

Blizzerdd smiles as he raises his right hand. A small burst of golden sunlight emanates from his palm drawing your attention.

You say, "Evening all and thank you for coming."

Alexiel winces.
Catlas blinks.

You say, "Would everyone please take their seats and lend me an ear in preparation for the ceremony."

Witcheaven blinks.

Myrefalcon sits down.
Kalynna sits down.

Myrefalcon nods to you in greeting.

Alexiel rubs her stormy grey eyes.

Meriman sits down.

Witcheaven rubs her eyes.

You nod to Myrefalcon in greeting.

Kalynna smiles at you.
Myrefalcon smiles.

You say, "I am here tonight, as the patriarchal representative of my family, to bestow in marriage my sister-in-law Noonee upon Ianeal Ne'Hatiea."

A liveried servant rushes through the arch and returns just as quickly with Iscikella in tow.
Iscikella sits down.

You say, "But before I do this, I would like to speak of some of the traditions you shall see tonight."

You place your hand on your ruby-inset manacle.

You say, "The Tehiri, as you likely know, are a desert people. And thus tents are part of their nomadic lifestyle. They provide shelter and a place to call home. Thus, when a couple chooses to marry amongst these tribes, a new tent is set up to house them in their new life."

You say, "Over the centuries the idea of this "new tent" has become symbolically represented in the wedding service by the cover of a canopy, such as that under which the formal exchange of vows will take place here tonight."

You say, "Because such an exchange of vows is a pledge between the couple, one to another, and because sometimes in the midst of the desert the tribe may have no religious personage on hand to "officiate" such an exchange, Tehiri weddings are often performed without the benefit of clergy."

You take a few steps to your left.

You say, "Certain ceremonies herald the solemnity of the occasion, and partaking in these ceremonies, as well as speaking the words of their vows, mark the pledge as fully binding. In such vein have Noonee and Ianeal chosen to formalize their pledge this night."

You nod.

You say, "With this in mind, will everyone please rise for the entrance of the wedding party."

Catlas stands up.
Witcheaven stands up.

(Blizzerdd strides back to the the front of the midnight blue wedding canopy but remains outside its cover.)

Kalynna stands up.
Alexiel stands up.
Valiria struggles to stand, but fails.
Myrefalcon stands up.
Meriman stands up.
Alexiel scratches her nose.

Valiria stands up.
Benjon stands up.

Kalynna pulls on Valiria, trying to get her closer.

Valiria grins.
Kalynna giggles.

A liveried servant rushes through the arch and returns just as quickly with Ambraisha in tow.

Tierus just arrived.
Lord Ianeal just arrived.

Ianeal and Tierus stride swiftly across the sand to position themselves under the midnight blue silk canopy.

You see Lord Ianeal Ne'Hatiea the Spellweaver.
He appears to be a Human of the Tehir tribes.
He appears to be young and robust and average height. He has deep, penetrating sapphire blue eyes and fair skin. He has cropped, deep red hair. He has a clean-shaven face, a straight nose and broad shoulders.
He has a silver and azure comet tattoo on his ankle.
He is in good shape.
He is wearing a raised falcon copper and gold circlet, a gleaming golden cloak clasp, an ensigiled dark blue linen burnoose, a delicate red rose boutonniere, a gold-backed copper Tehiri armband, a blue silk and argent linen shirt, a lustrous silver signet ring, a black pebbled leather belt adorned with a falcon-shaped buckle of burnished copper, some bloused black silk pantaloons, and some black pebbled leather boots with cuffs turned down to reveal a silver silk lining.

Valiria smiles.

Tierus smiles slightly, barely more than a quirking at the edges of his lips.

Tierus recites:
"I come to stand witness for my--"

(Tierus pauses for a barely-noticeable moment. He continues fluidly on.)

Tierus recites:
"--my friend, Ianeal, of his commitment to Noonee. In all things, let them be joined."

A wind whips through the area, kicking up sand clouds and causing some of the silken cloaks worn by the wedding guests to ripple wildly.

Ichiko blinks.

A liveried servant rushes through the arch and returns just as quickly with Finiswolf in tow.
A liveried servant rushes through the arch and returns just as quickly with Bellelaide in tow.

Ianeal smiles.

Louaryne just arrived.

Louaryne strides quickly up to stand under the midnight blue silk canopy. Ianeal acknowledges her with a gesture of respect. Tierus burps slightly.

Tierus clasps his hand over his mouth.

Valiria appears to be trying hard not to grin.

You smirk.

Ianeal glances at Tierus.

Louaryne recites:
"I come to stand witness for my friend, Noonee, of her commitment to Ianeal. In all things, let them be joined."

Alexiel snickers.

Noonee just arrived.

The wind suddenly hushes. Noonee stands before the crowd, smiling shyly. After a moment, she walks towards the canopy pausing before she enters its shelter.

Ianeal gazes fondly at Noonee.

You see Noonee the Preacher.
She appears to be a Human from Dragach.
She appears to be young and robust and shorter than average. She has thick, dark lashes framing velvet-black eyes and rosy skin. She has shoulder length, silky soft blue-black hair. She has a round face, a straight nose and a dimpled chin.
She has a silver and azure comet tattoo on her ankle, a small rosebud tattoo on her ankle, and an elaborate hourglass tattoo on her thigh.
She is in good shape.
She is holding a cascade of velvety crimson roses interspersed with trailing copper ribbons in her right hand.
She is wearing a raised falcon copper and gold circlet, a sheer silver silk gauze veil, a tri-metallic festoon necklace, a burnished silver engagement ring inlaid with a tiny onyx rose, a brushed copper bracelet, a gold-shot silver silk houppelande, a copper-hued pebbled leather cincher, a midnight blue silk pouch, and some copper-hued pebbled leather sandals fastened with falcon-shaped silver and gold buckles.

Noonee reaches over and gently rests her hand on your arm.

Blizzerdd offers Noonee his arm. She gently places one hand upon it and together they face the crowd.

You recite:
"In Tehiri tradition, a canopy marks the entrance
Of the couple into the beginning of a joined life together under one roof.
I take my sister-in-law under this roof to her promised spouse."

Blizzerdd tenderly guides Noonee in a circle to face the canopy. Together, they step underneath. Noonee turns to face Ianeal.

You recite:
"I release my sister-in-law to her promised husband's care
Under this canopy, honoring the ways of his people
While charging him to do all right by her,
And her to do all right by him."

Noonee smiles at Ianeal.
Ianeal smiles at Noonee.

Blizzerdd smiles proudly as he lifts Noonee's veil and kisses her lightly on the cheek. He then steps out from under the midnight blue canopy and take his place amongst the guests.

Noonee rests a gentle hand on Ianeal's arm.

(Tierus raises his voice only slightly, but it cuts sharply through the air of the room. He requests, "May all those gathered here, from lands of stone and mud, of grass and water, of sand and fire, be seated.")

Catlas sits down.
Valiria sits down.
Bellelaide sits down.
Kalynna sits down.
Witcheaven sits down.
Ichiko sits down.
Meriman sits down.
Finiswolf sits down.
Benjon sits down.
Alexiel stretches to scratch her back, trying to reach that pesky itch.
You sit down.
Ambraisha sits down.
Alexiel sits down.

Myrefalcon sits down.
Noonee nods to Ianeal.

(Noonee faces the crowd a bit more, turning a bit from Ianeal.)

Noonee clearly says, "When my betrothed spoke to me of the tradition of personal symbols being emphasized within the framework of a Tehiri marriage service, I must admit to a bit of a quandary. For most people, such a symbol would be their familial symbol; yet of such I have none."

Noonee says, "Those that know me know as well I remember little of my life before about the age of ten when the man who was to become my benefactor, Zylas Pitroch, a cleric in the city of Connedale in Dragach and a man of great spiritual beliefs, took me in literally out of the gutter."

Louaryne removes a perfect long-stemmed rose from in her palm frond basket.

Noonee smiles softly.

Noonee appreciatively says, "I was fortunate not only to receive Father Pitroch's care in terms of food and shelter, but also in terms of teaching, in particular with regard to spiritual matters. He told me that, if I truly served the Arkati, I would never again know the loneliness and hunger I had as a young child. And in the house of Father Pitroch was a garden, a lovely garden of roses, and it became in many ways a haven to me where I pondered what the good cleric spoke."

Louaryne drops a perfect long-stemmed rose.

Louaryne removes a perfect long-stemmed rose from in her palm frond basket.

Noonee warily says, "Still I was wary and unsure. I had known the harshness of life and was uncertain trusting in anyone or anything, even the Arkati, was in one's best interest."

Louaryne drops a perfect long-stemmed rose.

Noonee bites her lip.

Noonee understandingly says, "About a year after he had taken me under his wing, Father Pitroch took me on a pilgrimage to Lanark Falls. There the cleric himself skinned the red deer to provide the customary hide in which I wrapped myself as I lay at the base of the falls awaiting a vision of my future according to the great mystery of that place."

Noonee jubilantly says, "At first what came over me there was no more than a simple feeling, a simple feeling that the truth indeed did lie in Father Pitroch's teachings. And a strong sense assailed me that following a religious life would, without any doubt, bring the comfort of which he often spoke. So I determined within my mind at that moment to follow the path Father Pitroch laid before me, and as I did so determine, a vision did come to me: the vision of a rosebud opening slowly into full bloom."

Noonee smiles quietly to herself.

Louaryne removes a perfect long-stemmed rose from in her palm frond basket.
Louaryne drops a perfect long-stemmed rose.

The gentle scent of roses wafts through the air.

Noonee wistfully says, "From that moment on, roses became exceedingly special to me. My personal calling pushed me toward preaching in Leya's name, but not being outgoing by nature, I hesitated to perform such ministerial work. I preferred to pray alone in the rose garden, which Father Pitroch many times reminded me was not the calling of my life as my vision had revealed it to be."

Louaryne removes a perfect long-stemmed rose from in her palm frond basket.
Louaryne drops a perfect long-stemmed rose.

Noonee bites her lip.

Noonee slowly says, "When Father Pitroch died, I finally set out to travel a bit and speak of Leya's ways. My shyness and awkwardness around people made this very difficult for me, however. Yet in IceMule Trace I came upon a sylvan woman who made me feel at ease as I spoke of these things. And she listened with interest to all I had to say."

Noonee says, "We spent much time in each other's company, though she told me frankly she already was a devout follower of Lumnis and did not see that affiliation being changed over to Leya, no matter the persuasiveness of my convictions. Yet when she heard how I remembered nothing really of my early childhood and knew nothing of any family I might still have, she asked me if I wished to become part of her family."

Noonee smiles at Iscikella.

Louaryne removes a perfect long-stemmed rose from in her palm frond basket.
Louaryne drops a perfect long-stemmed rose.

Noonee smiles at Iscikella.

Noonee warmly says, "I was flabbergasted by the kindly offer, and could not resist taking her up on it. And, to mark the occasion, she pinned a perfect rose to my shawl and reminded me that roses grow together on bushes, and thus they are never alone, as I would now never be alone. I have never, from that day to this, regretted becoming an "honorary" member of the family of that sylvan, Iscikella, and her husband, Blizzerdd."

Noonee smiles at you.

Noonee confidently says, "So to me, when finally deciding on what to use as a symbol here today for my entry into yet another new life with someone I love even more than Father Pitroch, even more than the family of Iscikella and Blizzerdd, the only choice that seemed appropriate was the rose."

You wink at Noonee.

Ianeal smiles.

Louaryne removes a perfect long-stemmed rose from in her palm frond basket.
Louaryne drops a perfect long-stemmed rose.

Noonee indicates her velvety crimson roses with a smile.

Noonee dreamily says, "For in the end, the rose signifies love. The love I came to know through the intervention of a selfless benefactor, the love I came to understand from an adoptive family, and now more importantly, the love I myself freely give to Ianeal as my partner in life."

(Noonee turns back to fully face Ianeal, having said her piece.)

A gentle breeze wafts through the area, scattering sand over the petals of the roses. Their scent fills the air with its sweet aroma.

Ianeal smiles at Noonee.
Noonee smiles dreamily.

(Ianeal turns a bit from Noonee, facing toward the assembled.)

Ianeal says, "I come from two backgrounds, to be completely honest."

Ianeal says, "On the one side, I come from the sands of the Sea of Fire, the blood that my mother carried."

Alexiel grins.

Ianeal proudly says, "And then the other, from the testament of human pride, the Turramyzzrian Empire."

Ianeal softly says, "I won't give the details of my early childhood... those are things best saved for another time."

Far overhead, a falcon can be observed, gliding along the wind currents with its wings outstretched.

Noonee tilts her head up.

Ianeal says, "My father came from a noble family, a branch of House Falstahn."

(Noonee shades her eyes a bit watching the falcon soar.)

Noonee gazes fondly at Ianeal.

Ianeal says, "The symbol of my family is a falcon with two curved blades on either side."

Ianeal smiles up at the falcon.

The falcon banks sharply, diving over the cliff before rising again to catch the wind.

Alexiel tilts her head up.

Ianeal says, "The right blade signifies strength, the left, loyalty."

Ianeal says, "The falcon, however, which I chose for myself, signifies unending trust."

A liveried servant rushes through the arch and returns just as quickly with Morilinde in tow.
Morilinde cocks her head.

Ianeal says, "Trust that does not, can not, and never will be broken."

Morilinde bites her lip.
Morilinde sits down.

Ianeal proudly says, "It is this trust that I freely give with my love to Noonee."

(Ianeal turns back to face Noonee.)

Louaryne smiles quietly to herself.

(Noonee gazes at Ianeal with eyes slightly glazed with tears.)

Ianeal gazes fondly at Noonee.

Tierus removes a brushed rose gold chalice from in his star-clasped pouch.

Ianeal smiles softly.

(Tierus raises the brushed golden chalice overhead. Its stem has been worked into the form of a falcon clasping a silvered rose in its talons. For a moment, he stands with the vessel upraised. Then, he turns to face Ianeal.)

Tierus gravely asks, "Water is life. Will you share of your life with this woman you take under the protection of your roof?"

With a lazy flip of its wings, the falcon sails away into the distance. The sun, drooping low in the sky, shines golden light behind it.

Tierus offers Ianeal a brushed rose gold chalice.

Ianeal firmly says, "I will."

Ianeal accepts Tierus's rose gold chalice.

Ianeal removes a raised falcon gold water flask from in his dark blue linen burnoose.

Ianeal carefully pours a little bit of liquid from his gold water flask into the rose gold chalice.

Ianeal recites:
"Water is life in the desert.
To share of water
Is to share of your life."

Noonee smiles warmly at Ianeal.

Ianeal recites:
"In such wise, do I now
Pour water from my flask
Into this chalice
Bearing our combined symbols,
For with you, my love,
I choose my life be shared."

Noonee gazes fondly at Ianeal.

Ianeal recites:
"This do I resolve,
In the presence of my friend
As witness of my verity and honor."

Ianeal offers Tierus a brushed rose gold chalice.
Tierus accepts Ianeal's rose gold chalice.

Ianeal nods.

Louaryne smiles.
Louaryne turns around.

Louaryne tenderly asks, "Water is life. Will you share of your life with this man under the protection of whose roof you now enter?"

Louaryne offers Noonee a brushed rose gold chalice.

Noonee turns to face Louaryne.

Noonee says, "I will."

Noonee accepts Louaryne's rose gold chalice.

Noonee put a cascade of velvety crimson roses interspersed with trailing copper ribbons in her silk pouch.

Noonee removes a rose-adorned silver water flask from in her silver silk houppelande.

Noonee smiles at Ianeal.

Noonee recites:
"Water is life in the desert.
To share of water
Is to share of yer life."

Noonee carefully pours a little bit of liquid from her silver water flask into the rose gold chalice.

Noonee recites:
"In such wise, do I now
Pour water from my flask
Into this chalice
Bearing our combined symbols,
For with ye, my love,
I choose my life be shared."

Noonee carefully pours a little bit of liquid from her silver water flask into the rose gold chalice.

(Noonee gazes deeply at Ianeal.)

Noonee recites:
"This do I resolve,
In the presence of my friend
As witness of my verity and honor."

Noonee turns to face Louaryne.

Ianeal closes his eyes for a moment.

Noonee offers Louaryne a brushed rose gold chalice.
Louaryne accepts Noonee's rose gold chalice.

Noonee smiles at Louaryne.

Noonee removes a cascade of velvety crimson roses interspersed with trailing copper ribbons from in her silk pouch.

(Tierus nods his head slowly to Louaryne.)
Tierus accepts Louaryne's rose gold chalice.

Louaryne turns around.

Louaryne removes a small silver ring box from in her palm frond basket.
Louaryne just opened a small silver ring box.
Louaryne removes a burnished gold nuptial band from in her silver ring box.

Louaryne offers Noonee a burnished gold nuptial band.
Noonee accepts Louaryne's gold nuptial band.

Louaryne softly says, "s a circle without end. Let its purpose be to show the continuity of two lives merging to one."

Noonee smiles at Louaryne.

Noonee turns to face Ianeal.

Louaryne put a small silver ring box in her palm frond basket.
Louaryne removes a small silver ring box from in her palm frond basket.

Noonee recites:
"Lady Leya, I have long been yer humble servant.
I have asked often for yer intervention
To gain Lorminstra's blessing in raising the dead.
But this night I ask for a special favor."

Noonee tilts her head up.
Noonee closes her eyes for a moment.

Louaryne just opened a small silver ring box.

Noonee raises her gold nuptial band skyward!

Louaryne removes a burnished gold nuptial band from in her silver ring box.

Noonee recites:
"I ask yer blessing upon this band
That will mark my husband's commitment to me
As he will ask the blessing of his patron diety
Upon that band that will mark my commitment to him."

The wind rises as the sound of hoofbeats fills the air. Suddenly, a great steed appears, silhouetted against the setting sun. It stops abruptly and rears up with a triumphant whinny. Clouds of sand kicked up by the wind envelope the magnificant horse.

Louaryne smiles.
Noonee smiles quietly to herself.

Noonee recites:
"Grant yer servant this favor, good Leya,
In memory of yer own committed love
To the man ye choose to honor
In life and beyond even death."

Noonee places a hand over her heart.
(Noonee bows her head.)

An owl emerges from the clouds of sand. It swoops overhead, white feathers flashing in the last few beams of sunlight.

Louaryne offers Ianeal a burnished gold nuptial band.
Ianeal accepts Louaryne's gold nuptial band.

Louaryne softly says, "The wedding ring is a circle without end. Let its purpose be to show the continuity of two lives merging to one."

Ianeal indicates his gold nuptial band with a smile.

Louaryne put a small silver ring box in her palm frond basket.

(Ianeal holds his band upward, facing toward the moon of Liabo.)

Ianeal recites:
"Lord Ronan, light in the vastness of night
In humility do I request of you
To lend your light unto me."

Ianeal recites:
"Grant me your wisdom and strength
So that I may love and cherish
She who is joining me in life."

Liabo rises in the night sky, its reflected light shining brightly. As the owl wings away, the moonlight catches in its feathers, tinging them with silver.

Ianeal recites:
"And give me the understanding
To trust my bride in all things
And the heart to receive her trust."

Noonee smiles at Ianeal.

Ianeal recites:
"In all reverence do I thank you,
Thus may it be done."

Ianeal hangs his head.

A moonbeam hits the band in Ianeal's hand, making it flash brightly.

You stand back up.

You say, "Ianeal will now make his vow to Noonee."

Noonee smiles happily.

Ichiko gazes up into the sky.

(Ianeal faces Noonee, smiling softly as he takes her hand in his.)

Noonee gazes fondly at Ianeal.

Ianeal softly says, "I remember the evening that we can both say we truly met for the first time."

Noonee smiles in reverie.

Kalynna leans softly against Myrefalcon.

Ianeal softly says, "I was being sly, making my little attempts to steal a giggle and a blush from you whenever I could."

Noonee's cheeks flush a deep shade of dark rose.

Morilinde smiles.

Ianeal softly says, "It seemed like anything I said could get that simple reaction from you."

Noonee smiles quietly to herself.

Ianeal softly says, "Whether it was commenting on your eyes, your hair.. but those moments were what drew me to you."

Noonee just touched a tri-metallic festoon necklace.
Noonee smiles at Ianeal.

Ianeal softly says, "As time went on, I could see the love that you held for me in your eyes. It was something that I only had to see once and I knew it was nothing but truth."

Noonee smiles as she blushes shyly.

Ianeal softly says, "And at the time I would have been lying if I said I hadn't begun to feel the same for you."

Ianeal softly says, "Those times seem like they passed by so quickly."

Noonee nods to Ianeal.

Ianeal softly says, "And for all that we've been through, I never once doubted your love for me, because if I ever found myself wondering, I had but to look in your eyes and have my questions answered, again and again."

(Noonee's eyes shine with unshed tears once more, as her lips curve into a gentle smile.)

Ianeal softly says, "Noonee, I love you. I will always continue to do so, as I have ever since I began looking into those eyes."

Noonee gazes fondly at Ianeal.

Ianeal softly says, "As time goes on, I'll continue to see your love for me in those eyes."

Ianeal softly says, "And with my love is my promise..."

Noonee softly says, "Ianeal, I wish to tell ye of my deep love of for ye, but I am uncertain I possess words sufficient to express the true depth of that love."

Noonee smiles timidly.

Noonee sweetly says, "I never expected in all my life to find anyone to love me as ye do. It makes me blush with pride to feel yer touch on my arm, strong and sure and full of caring."

(Noonee blushes softly.)

Noonee warmly says, "Even less did I ever expect to find so much love swelling my heart for one other being. But for ye, Ianeal, my heart swells so much with love, it hurts sometimes. And yet it is a good 'hurt'."

Ianeal smiles softly at Noonee.

Noonee places a hand over her heart.

Noonee gazes fondly at Ianeal.

The night air grows chilly. Candles, placed niches along the cliff become more noticeable as their tiny flames contrast with the darkness.

Noonee dreamily says, "They say that for each of us in the world there is someone who is the perfect compliment. Someone whose emotions measure ours. Whose dreams of companionship and family mirror ours. Whose very being makes us whole."

Noonee smiles softly.

Noonee emphatically says, "Ye are that person for me, Ianeal."

(Noonee gazes lovingly at Ianeal.)

Noonee softly says, "Ye are the man I want to have beside me the rest of my life, to walk beside and wake beside. The man I want to sit and plan with while young, and sit and remember with when old. The man I want as partner, lover, companion, friend... as everything to me."

Ianeal gazes fondly at Noonee.

(Noonee blinks back her tears.)

Noonee emphatically says, "Ye are the man of my dreams and of my tomorrows, and yet also of my realities and my todays."

Noonee proudly says, "Ye are the man by whom I am proud to be loved, and to whom I am proud to give my love."

Noonee smiles proudly.

Noonee hopefully says, "And I pray ye find always in yer heart such feeling for me as I have sensed in ye for these many months of our betrothal."

Noonee confidently says, "For my own part, I know my love for ye will never waver, and that time and a shared life will only deepen that love I have for ye today."

Noonee gazes fondly at Ianeal.

Noonee offers Ianeal a burnished gold nuptial band.

Louaryne happily says, "So are they now joined in all things, under one roof, and within one life"

You grin wryly.

You say, "Ianeal, you are now permitted to kiss the bride. And be careful this time, I didn't bring the drool bib."

Ianeal glances at you.
You wink at Ianeal.

Catlas appears to be trying hard not to grin.
Noonee chuckles.
