Iscikella's satchel quivers. A loud hiss can be heard from within.

A silvery fog coalesces around Morgaine, obscuring her form. When the fog dissipates, Morgaine is gone.

Kamalot gasps.

In the white leather satchel you see a twisted black toy serpent, some delicate ivory prayer beads, a white flask, a small rod, a flaky rainbow tart, a delicate onyx black lace chemise, a glass of deep red burgundy wine, a heavy rod and a flacon of lavender perfume.

Kadesha asks, "what serpent?"

You gulp.

Kadesha peers quizzically at you.

You remove a twisted black toy serpent from in your white leather satchel.

You say, "This one..."

You lightly tap the head of your black toy serpent and a slender forked tongue flicks out of its mouth several times in rapid succession.

Kamalot breaks out in a sweat.

Kadesha asks, "when ya get that?"

You say, "It crawled out from the satchel... was red."

A wave of power flows out of Kadesha and toward Iscikella who is surrounded by a soft white light.

[Hall of the Holy Struggle]
The walls of this circular chamber are filled with pictures of horror and of goodness. The western walls are covered with carvings of undead beings, etched in disgusting detail, while the eastern walls bear bas-relief warriors in gleaming armor marching to war. The pictures seem to be chasing each other in a perpetual hunt, although you could better see if you looked more closely. Two altars have been erected in the room, one tinted black, the other white. A spiral staircase leads up to the next level.

[Hall of the Dark]
Almost no light from the surface reaches this room. What does, comes from the walls in a sickly grey glow, sending chills down your spine that have nothing to do with the cold in the air. Two altars, gold to the south and grey to the west, relieve the black in the room, and detailed murals grace the walls behind them. You also see a snowshoe hare who is sitting, a black skull-shaped candle and a black skull-shaped candle.
Also in the room: Lady Morgaine, Vonka who is seated, Grhim
Obvious exits: up.

Grhim cackles insanely, wild-eyed and drooling.

You ask, "What is going on?"

Vonka cowers.

Grhim removes an ominous night-black onyx jackal symbol inset with eerie ruby eyes suspended from a fine black ora chain from his neck.

(Grhim moves toward Vonka, blocking the others from her.)

Grhim put a scorched brass lantern in his grim reaper's cloak.

Morgaine moves to stand in front of Vonka.

You glance at Grhim.

Kadesha snuffs out a black skull-shaped candle.

Morgaine says, "Grhim I am warning ye."

The glow from a black skull-shaped candle softly illuminates the room.

Vonka wrings her hands.

Morgaine slings a vultite wall shield off from over her shoulder.

A bit of melted wax drips from a black skull-shaped candle with a hiss. The flame jumps, burning high for a moment, then settles into a warm glow.

Kadesha takes off a polished ebonwood Lorminstra symbol inlaid with the image of a golden key.

Sothog swears long, loud and well.

(Morgaine knocks Grhim's hand from Vonka's shoulder and steps between them.)

Kadesha holds her Lorminstra symbol high, staring intently into the image of a golden key. The symbol radiates a pale glow, and the image shimmers and coalesces for a moment into the visage of Lorminstra for all to see. Words seem to spring unbidden to Kadesha's lips as the vision overwhelms her and she calls out, "Grant that we be worthy of your deliverance, Goddess of rebirth!"

Two altars, gold to the south and grey to the west, relieve the black in the room, and detailed murals grace the walls behind them.
